Second ...

Are we allowed to use the Samples coming with the SMP module?
1.) Only those in the noise category?
2.) Or all of them?

All Samples included in the synth are allowed. Imported samples are prohibited.

Should we make a fruity track? <kidding>

So... uhh.... Reaper it is!

Post

Oh... I'm definitely in for that one!
I'm looking forward using clap format ability for the first time with bitwig. Great choice !

Post

Hmm, graphical weirdness in Tracktion Waveform (Tracktion's menus won't display), weirdness in Cakewalk (ever expanding window) or 8 tracks only in Bitwig...

While I don't think it is a terrible idea to explore using new standards I feel it is a poor time to choose this as an option until it is more widely adopted as an industry standard. As it would seem only to be supported natively by Bitwig Studio and Reaper this gives those who even own a licence to either of them and use them an unfair advantage and I am sure it will put many of us off even trying this month and maybe many will never return which will be a shame.
I do actually own an 8-channel version of Bitwig I have never actually seriously tried it and would make things a bit tricky to make something very interesting but will see what is possible and if I can learn a new DAW in 1 month. I just think we should not be experimenting until a few of the other DAW options support this plugin type natively at least as this competition has as far as I have experienced so far is all about creating as level playing field as possible by many of the restrictions.

The free Reaper trial has no restrictions. People will be happy to help in the discord or maybe even at KVR.

I'm using it in Ableton Live via the Ildaeil-win64-v1.2 bridge, works but I can't automate the parameters <sigh>, so yes those already on a CLAP host have some advantage.

Thanks, I have just downloaded it but if you can't Automate anything then I am not sure what the point is. It just to me seems like a good idea in theory but probably from people who natively use one of the supported DAWs and don't use Ableton etc. I tried out using it on my 8-Track Bitwig and it turns out you can only use 2 of them with I think a plugin synth which makes that basically useless. I guess we are going to have to learn to use Reaper now. I do actually have access to a computer with a licenced copy but sadly it is not my home PC.

There are also VST and FL-native versions: are we allowed to use the VST or FL versions of the synth? I've already had the FL version installed (it's super fun).

Of course, yes. The FLStudio version may be used. I am not aware of a VST version?

You're right, I was confusing it with other available plugins. But I suppose it would help other FL users to say the FL version is ok! 👌
