Bulk edit midi loop packs to start at bar #1. Need help.

How to do this, that and the other. Share, learn, teach. How did X do that? How can I sound like Y?

Hi folks.

I need help with this one. I have several melodic MIDI loop packs. Some packs were done to start at bar #1. But some packs have MIDI loops spread out in some crazy way. For example, a 4 bar loop would start at bar 180...
Is there an easy way to bulk convert MIDI files so they are all get set to Bar#1 ?

Thank you!

anybody?

Select & move? Why should they all start at first bar btw?

If it was that simple "Select & move"
You mean one by one? and resave them one by one. Hundreds of files...

"Why should they all start at first bar btw?"
Because EZ keys doesn't like them when they don't start at bar#1 / Beat#1.

I bought several large MIDI loop packs. Some folders have it set correctly (to bar1/beat1), some are all over the place. So I was wondering if there is a batch converter or something similar that can set them right.

Sorry, I don't know an answer but I bet the MIDI pack makers would fix it themselves if you explain to them that their products don't work in EZ.

Do the files all start at the same measure? The only thing that comes to mind is to load a bunch of them onto separate tracks, then use whatever function your DAW has to remove the required number of measures from the entire project. That would get the files starting where you want, but you'd still have to save each individually.

I bought some midi drum files years ago, and they were set up so that multiple loops were on one track, separated by a measure or two of rests. I had to cut & paste each to a new track, then save. It was a pain.

You can also record into EZ Keys directly from its own midi track in your DAW, but you're still left with having to record and save each on separately, which isn't really a good solution.

Hopefully someone else has a better idea.

I wish I could sing as well as the voices inside my head...

Thanks, but loops in several packs are completely in random places.

This is what I want to avoid :)

I guess there is no easy way out. Just a few hours of monkey work.
