hi, the plugin works so far but the gui is not resizable and i had 2 projects so far where it introduced PHASE issues, so im not really sure if this plugin is working reliable. im checking if there are alternatives offering the same amount of possibilites?

It's basically a multiband comp with some convolution, EQ and waveshaping to get the tone of a tape machine. It's not an actual tape model. Something like Izotope Trash or Neutron has that all within the same plugin.

I don't know about phase issues, but I've had to turn the WoW/Flutter selector down or I get constant LFO noise in the background. I love this plug and use it all the time.

i've tested all major tape emulations (softube ,u-he,uad,ik,slate...) altought they are great if i had to choose one i would go with toneboosters ReelBus 4 ,it's a swiss knife of tape machines ,and does everything very acurate to real tape (tape speed , wow and flutter, tape wear,hiss,asperity,hysteresis etc)
one thing i like it is they even captured how the high frequency material is more compressed then the low end ,you can even simulate bias with the spectrum control,emphasis equalization in the "drive" tab, and is avaiable at only 29$ at the moment ,i really love the sound <3

Magnetic i s very old, maybe is one of the very first plugin purchase i made back in 2007 i think.
It's not very good at doing "tape"...and to be honest, it doesn't sound like tape at all.
But it has a peculiar sound and it's loaded with very characterful artifacts, especially phase artifacts on bass frequencies.
There's a lot of pre-ring and a ton of tone-shifting stuff that can sound like "plastic".
That's not what you want if you are in a need of tape goodness.
Because of this you really don't want to use this plugin in parallel or within a multi-mic context.
This is best suited as an insert for busses and single tracks with no multi-mic.
But, aside that, sometimes you really want that "quirky" sound, and there's nothing else like magnetic.
I i still use this old piece of software but i always tend to print it to audio, i'm not sure how future proof it is at this point.
My hope was to see ad updated resizable GUI and maybe VST3/CLAP versions and NO CHANGES in sound.
But, i know, at this point Nomad Factory is abandonware, and that's true since the developer passed away many years ago.

+1 for ReelBus 4. But you could try the free ReelBus 3 first.

One possible reason for your phasing issue:

Nomad Factory plugins NEVER report latency to the host. so playing with wet/dry will introduce phase issues.

According to Plugivery (owners of the NF brand and catelog) this is not the case. Although it's taking much longer than anticipated, they are supposedly doing a refresh on the whole NF line. I would expect VST3 at a minimum to be addressed. I for one am very much hoping this effort is still ongoing - big NF fan here.
