You could basically grab some of the old Tapes and mix with some of the new ones, like the best 5 so to say. Using some Jam points on top is a pretty Bargain actually.
You can be creative in any right place on Earth, and not only in the wealthiest cities. Bring the world feelings from everywhere, and not only feelings of capitalistic or jail environment.

The two volume knobs only affect the wet-level, not the dry signal - only the input control does. So you need to use the input-control to achieve unity-gain. But the input controla is a gain knob that affect the entire internal gain structure i.e. the actual sound of the plugin. In other words: the plugin has no clean volume control AT ALL. That's the fail.musicproducerdee wrote: Fri May 05, 2023 11:53 pm But I don't understand why would you need to adjust input gain once you've already set it to the desired level? Just control the output gain now, using the 2 volume knobs?
Also, if you're setting the dry/wet knob fully counter-clockwise and 2 volume knobs as well fully turned down, what's the point of loading the plugin itself?
I'm sorry, not trying to come off as rude, I'm just confused lol
It really isn't very complicated at all - just try it: Use the plugin as an insert on a track and load (say) the preset "Vintage Space" - then toggle the power switch - you should notice that the plugin boosts the gain significantly and the only way to turn it down (so that there's no boost happening when the plugin is active) is to use the input-control, which affects the sound. Get it now?
And as you can see from the bit of it I quoted:
Even the manual aknowledges the requirement of an output-control. So the one who wrote the manual understood it. Just apparently not the one(s) who is/are responsible for the development of the plugin.
("overdriving the input affects the tone of the processed signal and is often used as part of the effect. If a cleaner sound is desired, reduce the input volume below unity and increase the output volume to compensate.". Yes, they really mention a control in the manual that doesn't exist.

Both - they have different strenghts and weaknesses - what's the anual costs of a Spark subscription?
Both TR and the Arturia FX can often be had for little money and they're really great for the most part of them.
The 30 Plug-ins user bundle is an insane deal (the 20 is too, but the price-difference between both is too marginal). Either you have Jampoints or you can even get it for a little less at retailers.
And isn't the Arturia FX-Collection 3 also on sale right now?

Ahh that's sad. I use the UAD version of Space Echo and it does have the output knob at the end of the chain. Can't beleive IK would skip out on such a basic feature.jens wrote: Sat May 06, 2023 12:43 amThe two volume knobs only affect the wet-level, not the dry signal - only the input control does. The cost of UAD Spark is $20 per month if I decide to pay monthly and $149 if I pay yearly, so it's quite pricey. But the plugins are good, I could easily make a whole mix with just those. But then again, I could do the same with T-RackS or Arturia. Plus I wouldn't have to deal with iLok and being online all the time to Authorize my subscription each and every time I load a UADx plugin. Plus it'll save me money. The IK promo right now made me even more interested. The Arturia sale is sadly over, I contemplated a lot when it was on sale and decided not to buy it. Well, always another sale around the cornerjens wrote: Sat May 06, 2023 1:02 amBoth - they have different strenghts and weaknesses - what's the anual costs of a Spark subscription?

You can alleviate this issue by using it as a send instead of an insert... To be honest, I always use delays on sends as I'm old and it's what I always used to have to do and like the sound of sending multiple tracks in varying amounts to a send. I also find it works better for me when mixing as I can quickly control the amount of send and the overall volume of the fx all in the mixer so don't have to go digging in to plug-ins to adjust wet/dry balance etc.jens wrote: Sat May 06, 2023 12:43 amThe two volume knobs only affect the wet-level, not the dry signal - only the input control does. If you use it as in insert you'd need to add a gain plugin after it. Not ideal but doable.
I can understand why it's annoying when used on an insert though. But it's not unusable IMHO.

I remember sending a request for an Output volume control* or a Saturation level control instead of the Input control (similar to Replika XT) to IK Support two years ago, but unfortunately still no change. You could use plugins like these:
https://plugins4free.com/plugin/2840/
Put one before and one after Space Delay. Use the one before as Input control. Then you directly know how much to turn the one after to compensate.
*They just have to look at their Saturator-X plugin for a good auto gain solution.

I love the Space Delay. Best Space Echo plugin by far. I use it mostly on a send.

I never use delays as sends. And I certainly won't start to change my way of working because braindead people ended up developing musical equipment.Meester Smeeeth wrote: Sat May 06, 2023 7:28 am You can alleviate this issue by using it as a send instead of an insert... .
How many Space Echo emulations are there?
I have a few other ones. None of them has this pathetic shortcoming. They are all useable as a n insert.

That solution is FAR to cumbersome when the other much simpler solution of just not using the plugin at all is available.Lotuz2019 wrote: Sat May 06, 2023 8:20 am Quote myself from the Gearspace forum:

Your suggestion is akin to - when seeing a pile of dog shit while walking down the pavement - cross the street, enter a store, buy two plastic bags, put one of them over each feet and then walking back to the other side of the road before willfully stepping in the dog crap with both feet.

$184 is still a lot. I have a bunch of Arturia stuff, so in my account I had in on sale for $129, along with the new Lexicon Reverb. Anyways, summer sales are just around the corner, so I guess I'll just wait. In the meantime, I could subscribe to them for $20 via Splice, instead of paying $20 to UAD Spark, considering I'm never gonna actually own a license to anything via the UAD route.jens wrote: Sat May 06, 2023 8:37 amIndeedmusicproducerdee wrote: Sat May 06, 2023 7:19 am The Arturia sale is sadly over, I contemplated a lot when it was on sale and decided not to buy it. I usually go for Outer Space first as it is much more flexible and userfriendly. But Space Delay has a different way of repeating when using multiple heads and sometimes that is what I prefer.

Hey guys. I've decided to use the current $49.99 promo and get 5 plugins. I'm set on
The Farm Stone Room Studio Reverb
FAME Studio Reverb
Sunset Sound Studio Reverb
TASCAM 388
TEAC A-6100 MKII
I'm sure about the reverbs, I have to have them, I love them. What do you'll think about the Tape Machines. I want something from the newer Tascam collection, not the old ones. Are they any good or should I swap one with probably the Chicarelli Vocal Strip?
