The other unit I noticed that offers easy octave transpose is the ALM Beast’s Chalkboard, but I don’t think it offers semitone transpose.

+1 for that ^^^ and this:

That's a nice basic utility. I think that I want one of those.

I like the Doepfer one best so far, but stumbled on this too.

Looks less obvious to me compared to Doepfer, but it comes in at 4hp vs 6 (just in case that matters).

To be clear, I like the Klavis module the most. I think that the Doepfer is just less fussy for basic tasks. I didn't jump on the Klavis earlier because it was just too close to other purchases, but I might grab one. I'm just taking my time at the moment.

There is a used one on MW. I asked them about trades yesterday since they seem very open to trading.

Might be worth checking out.

I’m more curious now than anything else, but just in case, Plaits is expendable because Hector is very convincing.

Ooh, Klavis will be at Superbooth. I'm looking forward to seeing if they release anything new.

As you may have it already experienced first-hand, Klavis modules are based on engineering. In these times of trendy buzzing, where appearance takes precedence over substance, we want to offer to our users predictable, yet creative tools on which they can rely.
Yes, in fact, I have experienced this first hand.
