In all seriousness, sounds great as per usual. Your patch/sound design is always inspirational Simon!
I'm still using the trial so there is no warranty anyway :)
Thank you

i just stood corrected:
my report that the VST3 version has a latency of 2048 samples, must have had other reasons. it was reality for me "within my first patch within GigPerformer".

right now, i could load a VST3, and it reported the expected latency of 1024 samples.
new patch, ..another day,.......

ahh wait, even when loading a new OrangeV instance within the same patch right now, is it now showing a correct latency value( screenshot to big, can´t upload here).
Means: i have now two instances loaded, both VST3, both show different latencys ( correct/incorrect)

JFYI
"Plugin has turned Drug now"....and the business knows it.

Can someone post audio examples of Orange Vocoder IV's "MIDI to Voice" ?, because i am curious to hear how good Orange Vocoder IV's "MIDI to Voice" compares to other "MIDI to Voice" VST's, thanks.

I have a feeling that Orange Vocoder IV's "MIDI to Voice" doesn't sound as clean/realistic/accurate as Infected Mushroom Manipulator or MIDI Choir 3.1 "MIDI to Voice", and i think Orange Vocoder IV is probably only good for creating great sounding "predetermined vocoder / robot voices", but NOT good for creating great sounding "MIDI to Voice".

I say this, because there are some newer "MIDI to Voice" VST's that got released over the last few years that can do "MIDI to Voice" in a less robotic voice than most "Vocoder" VST's, and i think Orange Vocoder IV's weakness is probably "MIDI to Voice".

Listen to all of these audio examples, it's my voice being transformed into the MIDI notes of a "Vanessa Carlton - A Thousand Miles" MIDI File, it's good for comparing and hearing the differences between all of the different "MIDI to Voice" VST's.

For a good comparison, you should provide the audio and MIDI files, and then someone of us could send it through the pitch quantizer of OV IV.

However, I think there might be a misunderstanding what the purpose of a vocoder is… You‘re obviously thinking about ‚harmonizers‘ or autotune effects, or something like Melodyne, aren‘t you? While OV IV does feature a pitch quantizer with five different modes that allow you to force pitch based on MIDI input and scales, it‘s not its main purpose. In that sense, reducing it to the pitch quantizer would be like reducing it to it‘s built-in buffer freezer or the delay or the reverb or the synth (which is actually quite fun when used on its own). I am not sure whether buying this plug in for just the pitch quantizer would make a lot of sense… That would be like buying a swiss army knife just for the tooth pick.

There's a 30 day demo. Maybe that's easiest?

Not that I've looked at all, but in my mind there are no videos about this so I did one. It isn't a glowing review, and I do have complaints, but it sounds _ooookkkkaaayyy_ for a digital vocoder. Low rez right now but it should upscale in the next hour or so if that bothers you like it does me. I don't cover the synth, only the algorithms.

that's a long ass video dude.

i've skipped a little and i'm not sure what to gather from it.
FFT vocoding is i guess what I do with Soothe2 (feed sidechain to it, and switch to delta)

I’ll put some chapters in, I do waffle a tiny bit but a lot of it is literally listening.

I’ve no idea how you’re getting a resonance remover to behave like that other than, I suppose, imparting the shape of one signal over another, but I struggle to see how a dynamic eq can do that. Pure FFT vocoding is just replacing the magnitude of the sines with magnitude of another signal.

Yep.
Soothe is FFT based, when you feed it an external sidechain, it “notches” based on the sidechain signal.
If you click “delta” (to hear whats notched) and you feed it a synth, it will basically filter the input signal based on the sidechain.

Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Fri Apr 28, 2023 2:59 pm Regarding the one activation thing, I reached out to Zynaptiq, and they basically explained:

1. An additional license [more on this in the next bullets] will be issued upon request [one activation by default]
2. That additional license is actually only good for a year from activation, but...
3. So you don't ever have down time, they'll actually issue you two expiring licenses [first add'l license expires, just activate #2]
4. You just contact them when you need a refresh, which they'll provide
5. The main activation doesn't require any jumping through hoops

So it's a little convoluted, and I suggested they reconsider and just issue 2 out the outset, but they're at least better than Izotope in this regard.
Thank you so much for this. Almost shelled out for the ZAP III Bundle. Now, I am just going to put Zynaptiq into my black list instead.

Processing a speech recording of myself reading a poem by Goethe (Gesang der Geister über den Wassern) with Orange Vocoder (Padshop brass sound as side-chain), ÜberMod (bus), Coldfire (bus) and B2 reverb (bus), in a second pass Fragments comes in for some additional time-stretching.
