Is it possible to automatate the bypass in the insertion effects in cubase sx2?

Yes, you can complete shut off FX and synths in SX2 during playback, by automation. You can find it in your Track Parameter automation menu, or simple automate it in real time by write enabling and hitting the button NEXT to the On/Off button on the top left.
