How to use Apricot in Studio One with FL native plugin? Where do I install Apricot since it's not a vst?

Once I get FL as a plugin in S1, then how to bring up Apricot? Does it run in FL?

I have released an update, version v1.1.9, that hopefully fixes these issues. Please let me know if it works/doesn't.
New Version works better in LogicX and StudioOne 6! No crashes!

I felt like making patches. So i did.
A dozen of them. Mixed types.
They are on KVR's download page, banks.

PS. I'm not going to participate in this contest so you can relax if you thought of using any of it. It's ok to do that.

feels like the right time to get the Bitwig trial and try something new

This Synth is incredibly incredible ... update of my current track ... I have added additional part in the end ... even more "aggressive" then the middle part.
Still lot's of fine tuning to do mix wise. the Distortion is quite harsh and need some taming. And secondly I need a better transition to the last part and a way to transport the little melodie lines of the previous parts over to the last part...
[update 21.05.2023 removed the draft track and added the final submission, see later in this thread, viewtopic.php?p=8678171#p8678171]

Some Tips:
1.) Try using Phase Modulating a sine osc with a rather fast LFO. Got me some almost bitcrush like sounds
2.) I tried Auburn Sound Lense free edition. It's a up to 64-band "compressor" ...

Thanks for the tips Peter!

24 more patches available at the usual place.

The OSC rules are a bit confusing :o for me and I don't have a Soundcloud :D , but I really like the Apricot (although with an OSC it is noticeable that the FX could be improved  )
CPU ist 23, but with OBS Studio recording it rise to 50+.
(if someone has tips for smoother screen recording, bring it on.)

P.S. The days of synths are probably over, since sounds can be "chatted together" more easily.

This is my submission for OSC 171 Apricot. It was made with 27 instances in Reaper.

LoudMax 1
Transient Shaper (Kiloheartz) 12
TDR Kotelnikov 1
Bass Professor 1
ReaEQ 17
OTT 1
FRANK 1
master_me 1
A1StereoControl 1
Distortion (Kiloheartz) 11
epicPLATE 11
Spaceship Delay 2
Valhalla Supermassive 6
Compressor (Kiloheartz) 2
STFU (ZEEK) 3
ReEQ Parametric Graphic Equalizer 5
A1 TriggerGate 2
SPAN 1
On a few instances I had zero FX. The reverb in Apricot seemed pretty good.

Not as interested this time as much in critical feedback. (Edit: oh on second thought feel free to be critical.) I realize it's a bit repetitive. Simplistic bassline. Not even any drum fills. And it's a fade out because it's a long long way to go. But I really like it as is a lot. The harmonica sounded like it was saying "down the river". From there I started thinking of a river on fire that was sort of like the infinite corridor in the castlevania tv series on netflix. I might try to find a more representative picture. I keep getting boats on fire using deep dream generator text 2 dream.

Great sound design and music! :tu: I hope to see you in the list of participants!) But at least a free SoundCloud account is needed to participate, because the voting page works only with SC submissions.

The rules of the OSC are basically that the sound of the synthesizer should remain recognizable and characteristic of it. Think of it in the spirit like of the cosmetics of your beloved girlfriend or wife (yourself, if you are a girl) - it can be almost imperceptibly or significantly change the image, but you always want to recognize her (yourself) by the face, because this is your loved face!)

Aha, synthesizers have become killers of real instruments, digital synthesizers have overed the days of analog, virtual synths have replaced digital ones, AI will finally do away with plugins... so, here we are again choosing between the samplers of real instruments and replicas of analog or digital synthesizers! :hihi: The story is cyclical, IMHO, and we will see many more beautiful sunrises and sunsets, some of which will be like two drops of water like others)

The monophonic mode seems to produce clicks on note-start, I guess there is some declicking algorithmic stuff missing? Maybe internally limit to 2 voices minimum and "micro-crossfade" it then?

Post

I found the only way to really avoid them is to very carefully fiddle with the attack until you get a good sharp attack, but without a click.

Ahoy! Long time no submission. Finally something from me - my first attempts in Bitwig using a trial version. I might update my track during this month so details will follow later
