hi guys, it seems Clipper can give you for more energetic genres like trance, edm etc. some extra punch/dBs? i used sometimes IKM Tracks Clipper but i dont want to use Tracks anymore cause IKM is not on my preferred list long time. does anyone got any recommendations?
Can i also use Fabfilter as a clipper?
thx

The first one is getting used by Luca Petrolesi, who does loads of mixing and mastering for the biggest EDM artists world wide. You can find some videos of him on YouTube.

Let me just say that there was a blind shootout of 10 of the most popular clippers on gearspace at similar settings and nobody could tell the difference. With that said I like KClip the best, UI gives me the info I need the easiest.

It refuses description, allowing only the vague approach of adjectives: dark, light, raw, angelic. Who or what is making these noises? Where are they coming from and what do they point to? What kind of entity can leave such a troubling sonic remnant?

Saturate by Newfangled Audio. What sets it apart for me is the "detail preservation", which no other clipper has afaik. If you're just shaving of the tops of transients it doesn't have too much effect but if you're pushing things a bit harder it can really bring back the high frequency details that get lost otherwise.
Here is an article that explains it

Standard Clip.
Don't fall into other marketing BS. I tried lots of clippers, and while hard clipping is the same for everyone, soft clipping can be different, and i never found anything that gave me a better solution than SC
