The fade in that happens when the compression begins needs to be corrected. it was a flaw of analog technologies. There's no reason it needs to be like this today in a plugin.

Then someone would notice that and say its not faithful emulation. Only option is to add both type of sound mangling possibilites - a button like: old/new.

LA-2A's do this too and I've never once seen anyone complain about a software emulation not including that. It's super annoying. If you're tracking a vocal for example and there's a decent amount of GR going on, but then suddenly a pause in the vocals (say for a guitar solo or something) then if the vocal comes back in with a loud plosive, it can be duck city. This is probably in part why some people started throwing an 1176 in before the LA-2A to catch peaks. If you geek out and read interviews with engineers a lot and they talk about the dangers of tracking with compression because you can't undo it if you went too far, that's one example of what they're talking about.

In a DAW, one trick you can do is mute the track on the fader, but put some kind of transient signal before the music comes in to trigger the compression and unmute so the first peak isn't important audio.

You said in one of the last releases that you're working on vst3 and a new licensing system.

Can you elaborate what a new new licensing system means? The current one is awesome. I'm afraid to buy anything new before knowing if there is some kind of online or challenge response system in the pipeline.
Hey no worries. With updating our framework and licensing system, we will add additional functionality to a working system. So there will not be any dramatical changes, basically just the appearance.
Sounds great. Thanks a lot for the reply.
