I am glad I really like my own voice. And even if it may not be the best it's 100% mine. I wouldn't in a million years think about replacing it with someone else's. The mere thought of doing that gets me depressed.
So yeah, if that's your thing then more power to you - go ahead.
But personally I am siding with Oscar Wilde on this: "Be yourself; everyone else is taken"

As is well-known: One can copyright sound recordings; one can also copyright musical compositions. One cannot copyright the characteristics of a voice.Samiver wrote: Wed May 10, 2023 11:14 am This to me seems like an area to watch with regard to copyright infringements and be interesting to see the labels responses.
I would not be surprised to see some legal challenges if A.I learns from an artist and it can be seen to imitate enough to be seen as a copy.
HOWEVER: One may be able to trademark the sound of a voice just like Harley-Davidson trademarked the sound of a V-twin engine.
I hope this never happens because all sorts of frivolous lawsuits could be filed. One's real voice could be judged as trademark infringement of someone else's trademarked voice. Egad! Never mind AI. A group of artists could get together and effectively ban everybody else from performing, recording, etc.
Why didn't I think of this a long time ago when I first heard about the Harley-Davidson trademark? Sorry I gotta go so will have to cut this short...

It all depends, AI has faults, yes some might be ironed out, it is difficult to say with certainty what jobs will be most affected, least of course are manual jobs. All jobs will be affected somehow but some may vanish altogether. Impossible to predict, depends how much savings there are to be made, ethics, competitive need, profit margins and how well it can be integrated into different industries. The more memory / number / maths focused and data-ery the greater the risks.

Totally bizarre to me that Drake's label can own the rights to his voice. That's some Little Mermaid s*** right there.
