Be careful with this update.
At least on my mac intel it seemed to have wiped out all my favourites.
Fortunately I had a backup of the workspace.db file and all seems fine now.

Neither the after touch nor any of the CC / MIDI learn work in the VST3. I've reported about that previously Fwiw.

Steinberg removed any kind of Midi functionality with VST3 so if you guys want to use that its better to use the VST2 version.phreaque wrote: Wed May 10, 2023 2:50 pm Neither the after touch nor any of the CC / MIDI learn work in the VST3. I've reported about that previously Fwiw.

No, not exactly, depends on the plugin developers, U-He VST3 plugins can accept MIDI learn & all CC function properly in any DAW.adamtrance wrote: Wed May 10, 2023 6:02 pmSteinberg removed any kind of Midi functionality with VST3 so if you guys want to use that its better to use the VST2 version.phreaque wrote: Wed May 10, 2023 2:50 pm Neither the after touch nor any of the CC / MIDI learn work in the VST3. After reading Steinberg developers answering so condescending and arrogant I am even more sure VST should go the way of the dodo, I hope Ableton adopts clap, that alone would make a big shift in the power of developers vs Steinberg.adamtrance wrote: Wed May 10, 2023 6:02 pmSteinberg removed any kind of Midi functionality with VST3 so if you guys want to use that its better to use the VST2 version.phreaque wrote: Wed May 10, 2023 2:50 pm Neither the after touch nor any of the CC / MIDI learn work in the VST3. I hope in 5 - 8 years Cubase is the only DAW using VST exclusively, bunch of twats.

Again, not the case, the VST3 format for now is only useful for Cubase 12+ users. The VST2 format will still be around as long as plugin developers have their licenses.

Only true for developers who already had a license. New devs can't sell VST2's.phreaque wrote: Wed May 10, 2023 6:19 pm Again, not the case, the VST3 format for now is only useful for Cubase 12+ users. The VST2 format will still be around as long as plugin developers have their licenses.
