Lemme see: I paid 179€ for LPX in 2013. 49 x 10 = ? x Y users?
You want sub models, go ahead. Feel free. Methinks the majority do not. And the thing about that model is the prices will inevitably rise because they have you by the short and curlies.

Feels like Apple is testing the waters, rather than switching overnight like the Waves disaster.

Definitely seems like the writing is on the wall for desktop Logic with the iPad version being sub-only. Been doing a little research on Reaper and was surprised to find that it's significantly more CPU efficient on Apple Silicon than Logic Pro is.

Interesting....i just would like to know if it is really a "full" version.
Subscription?!.....uhh. But every DAW will go this way maybe in the future.
But i think i will stay for years with the last non-subscription version then..... until Alchemy 3 or something else arrives.

It's probably the full version in that it's Logic, but if you run 3rd party plugins it's not really "full".
Studio One // Bitwig // Logic Pro // Ableton // Reason // FLStudio // MPC // Force // Maschine

The Slate Raven doesn't get tiring but you set it up at a 45º angle on your desktop, not on a stand. The two main things the Raven gets used for here all the time are sound design and mixing. For a lot of things touch is fantastic, sound design for instance, playing the keyboard while tweaking knobs and sliders like what you do with hardware is ideal, but of course typing, and sometimes mousing is better. The idea is simple, touch works best when your arms are not extended at or above your chest, facing down like with an iPhone etc. works for a reason.

That is tiring on the neck. I like my monitor as it is, up at eye height facing me.

Plus the area right in front of me where my arms/hands are comfortable is already taken with my controllers and other gear. There is no place for a touch screen.

The latest Logic download was something like 85 GB? This iPad has less than 30 GB storage left out of 64 GB. Peripherals I see as a hassle. These things are nicely placed and tucked away on my desktop.

Everyone has different needs for sure. I've never experienced neck tiredness from it. Maybe due to having a second 32" monitor directly above it helps. I think about ergonomics a lot, so if I'm moving my head slightly up or down without getting locked into one position, it's best for your body. I was able to sell a Mackie Control and that saves desktop space etc. I have the Linnstrument on an extended keyboard slide under the desk, and the desk is somewhere between sitting and standing. Other keys and hardware to to right, so playing while tweaking onscreen controls is possible.

I still think touch is the way of the future, I didn't before being horribly wrong about how popular the iPad was going to be. I thought it was Apples dumbest product ever, and it apparently outsold everything when it was introduced.

There are a lot of iPad options - the new pros' are M2, up to 13 inch screens and up to 2TB of storage! Obviously that will cost you a packet but my M1 iPAD pro with 256 (pretty much base model) was about £600....unless you want to record audio with a mike all you need is Apple USB-C to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter- 10 bucks (and a good DAC).

There are not many better value portable production studios, its 'instant on' 10 hour battery and running Logic and AU3 stuff like fabfilter etc you have a pretty solid 'portable' (as in hand held) DAW...Running AUM and all the really cool little sequencers and FX you have a pretty unique 'modular' system that just works perfectly on the iPAD with the touch interface...

I happily sold my OP-1 and OP-Z when I got into the AUM and AU3 stuff, never looked back.
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!
