From ChatGPT:
As an AI language model, I can tell you that AI has already made significant strides in music production, and it is likely to have an even greater impact in the near future. With advances in machine learning and deep learning algorithms, AI is becoming increasingly capable of composing, arranging, and producing music that sounds like it was created by humans.
One of the main benefits of using AI in music production is that it can help to streamline the creative process. AI algorithms can analyze vast amounts of musical data to identify patterns and generate new ideas, which can save time and effort for composers and producers. Additionally, AI can provide new tools for artists to express themselves and create music that they might not have been able to before.
However, there are also concerns that AI could replace human musicians and producers in the music industry. While AI can create impressive music, it lacks the emotional and creative depth that human musicians bring to their work. Therefore, it is more likely that AI will be used as a tool to enhance human creativity, rather than replace it entirely.
In summary, I predict that AI will continue to play an increasingly important role in music production in the near future, but it will not replace the creativity and emotional depth that humans bring to the process. Instead, AI will serve as a powerful tool to assist human musicians and producers in creating new and innovative music.

I predict that there's going to continue to be a lot of hype, controversy, ridiculous claims, legal questions, and new threads popping up about it and I'll continue to roll my eyes and ignore it.dasen wrote: Fri May 12, 2023 2:41 am What's your thoughts and predictions on AI and its affect on music production in the near future?
And eventually, maybe some useful tools.

We talk as if we have something like a healthy music industry that’s threatened. It’s been on life support for a very long time. AI is not going to change anything for me, though I am excited to get access to an AI voice so I can throw off the yoke of my limited-range nasally drone and become the Robert Daltrey I was meant to be.

I think people doing jingles and theme songs for tv shows should be worried. I'm not, because I'm an amateur at this point in my life. I have considered sending studios little themes, but won't bother, now. I'll just do my thing as I've always done. I can tell myself using sampled instruments of things I can't play is ok. I can't tell myself the same thing if a machine generates 'my' song.
