I saw this on IG and I’m excited they’re continuing on.

I didn’t know they were so involved on the manufacturing side for so many companies. I’m assuming this was a much bigger hit when they announced an exit.

I’m surprised Overseer isn’t among the carryovers. I still love it, but I also don’t have another filter like it to compare it to.

I guess they’re adapting to the component prices and supplies available so maybe if there’s any kind of return to normalcy other things may reappear.
One thing I’d live them to make alongside their specific drum modules is a more generic sample loading module kind of like erica synths sample drum or squarp rample but with all their fun envelope and other options. For me it’s the sheer number of modulatable options that sets the WMD stuff apart.

Looks like this could be a decent Hector companion: https://www.thonk.co.uk/shop/music-thing-8mu/

Yeah, I quite like the look of that as a portable controller. Quite useful with a Zoia too, I reckon. Only just twigged it has CircuitPython so that's quite interesting to me as well...

I finally removed the Erica Synths Bass Drum from my rack, it just never did it for me and after an hour of mucking about with options I think I’ve fallen in love with a kick sound I made blending a Samples From Mars Linn Drum kick with a low end BIA patch. It’s amazing how much difference a good kick sound makes.

Agreed. I've avoided kick modules because most of them have demos that don't do it for me. Still working on some things that I really like though. It varies depending on mood.

While I like digital FM oscillators, it gives me the hives thinking about paying $300 for them.

Samples work pretty well for drums imo. Poly and sample playback are what finally steered me towards the disting ex. You can make it into a complete drum machine. Matches well with Pam s pro workout for the triggers.

Sometimes I feel this way, sometimes I don't. When I'm doing minimal techno I want a lot of small subtle movement and I find that just constructing drum voices from analog modules, or digital FM modules, is the way to go. Percussion blips is one of the reasons that I bit on the 292t, even though I think that it's overpriced. It comes today, I'll spend some time with it over the weekend along with PAMs. I also like Brains/Plaits for this now that it has a DX7 patch.

Kick drum sounds seem to be hard to get right and also keep simple. The 909 kick is classic, but it's fairly complex as modular patches for a simple short sound go.

Other times I want it to just sit comfortably in the background and, in that case, if samples, work, I really don't use the modular. That's what Force/Maschine is for. I can't really justify a Maschine+, but I really want to replace Force with one because I like the workflow better and I can incorporate my own Reaktor patches into the DAWless workflow.

Been looking at VCA and envelope generator combinations when I come across the After Late QARV.

Yes, it’s cramped and fiddly maybe but the bang per buck!
Any opinions?

I looked at that when I was after a module providing lots of envelopes, but already had a couple of quad VCAs (the Behringer Four Play)

and didn’t need the MATHS style start/end triggers so ended up getting a Tesseract Selam as it has switchable speeds and cycling LFO modes.
