It's easy to produce a complete song in Bitwig. Just cause you had trouble doing so is no indication of the capability of the software.

I would say it is easy to complete a song in every modern DAW. They are more than capable of doing so.
Of course you can produce a complete song in Bitwig. I did it. But if you're doing complex automation and MIDI arrangement, it takes much longer than some other DAWs.
pdxindy wrote: Sat Oct 08, 2022 5:53 pm If you want the DAW that has the most capable MPE implementation (back to thread topic), that is without a doubt, Bitwig. You can do a bunch of musically useful stuff that no other DAW can do.
Just because you can't do so is no indication of the capability of other DAWs :hihi:

Actually, in this case it is... but I understand, you just want to make a snarky comment

Let's see some prove, then.

Don't you know the answer to that already?

You mean there is no proof?

Bitwig's realtime per voice capabilities go well beyond just the usual MPE.

If as you say you used Bitwig for a year, you must know some of the answer already. I don't think your question is sincere so no point to spent time writing up a bunch of examples.

I'm talking about releasing music. You don't need real-time for that. You can simply stack a bunch of VST and program them by hand. It takes a while, but you'll get the same result.

Also, MSoundFactory, for example, has super extensive per-voice modulation capabilities and other (modular) synths do too.

Edit: And some of them have an MSEG which Bitwig still doesn't :D

Bitwig 5 added MSEG support finally

While I use Bitwig (mainly because Ableton lacked MPE support when I first started playing MPE instruments), it lacks midi comping and retrospective record. So it's not the best for actually playing MPE instruments.

[Edit: and since some plugin-companies---notably IK Multimedia currently---don't bother doing sufficient testing in Bitwig, bugs relating to third-party plugins might never get fixed.]

It was possible to make expression curves previously, but the new MSEG's make expression curves faster and more precise for any MPE synth.
