Producing Music with Reason
Erik Hawkins (12 weeks) 3 Credits For-credit: $950
Non-credit: $695
Gain a firm understanding of the functionalities and capabilities of Reason software. Explore Reason's rack of virtual instruments, effects, mixers, built-in sequencer and patching system, and learn real-world production setups and techniques used by today's top producers.
They also have this for Ableton's Live for the same price. I kind of thought this was a bit funny. KVR is free and I have learned more than I think a $695 non-credit course could offer.

What do you think?

I think $695 would buy a load of Reason books from Amazon, with plenty left over for more gear AND the ever-necessary beer to power a late-night solo studio session! :-o

That's quite a lot for a non-credit course, lordy! :o

If someone can't learn how to use Reason in a reasonable fashion in 12 weeks on their own, I'd consider that person hopeless. :help: And spending $695 wouldn't likely help at all. That said, there *are* people that can't learn well in an unstructured environment, so maybe this is for folks like that. :?

I think it's too expensive, and that people would be better off learning general approaches (e.g. how to use fx plugins effectively, programming VA synths, tarnce_made_ez)than spending lots of money learning a specific application that they may only use occasionally, or may not be using a few years from now. Then again, if the students are happy and satisfied with the course/instructor, then good for them. :)
