Hi guys!
Anyone know any alternatives to Waves Mondo Mod? It’s on sale, but since things are as they are with Waves I don’t think I’ll buy it.

All that functionality can be recreated with the Melda production stuff. I have both, but I don't usually use waves for modulation effects. Their stuff is fine but it's been outpaced over the years.
Don't F**K with Mr. Zero.

not really...imho...Anyone know any alternatives to Waves Mondo Mod?
unfiltered audio byome/triad might come to mind
but from what i can see (hear), doesn't do the extremes mondomod is capable of....

I've never run across anything that sounds like MondoMod.

Same, but i am sure if i looked hard enough i'd find one. Maxxbass is the one i can't find a replacement for. I don't use it often, but when i do, it's the best thing for the job. BassMint doesn't come remotely close(i think it sounds shit if i am being honest which is disappointing as i use and like a lot of UA stuff)and RootOne is really picky about the material i have tried it with

Basslane has this great Side Harmonics function now that can do interesting things to the bass. Not as aggressive as Maxxbass but I use it on every track.

Mondo Mod does some really cool stuff in one package. It's stable. It's $29.00. That's what one PIZZA costs. Who cares what's up with Waves? Get it. Use it. Enjoy what it does. [2c]

It's not necessarily the harmonic function i am missing out on and i do a similar thing as to what you just described with a combo of DrMS solo'ing the Field parameter and Kelvin. what i am missing from MaxxBass is how it responds to dynamics. BassMint has no movement to it just sounds like a solid wall of tubby bass, and RootOne is kind of there but it doesn't work on a lot of material i tried it with. MaxxBass with minimal tweaking works across a broad category of material. i thought it was just an expander behind the scenes, but it seems a little more integrated with the harmonics and reactive to the input material to be that (also tried envelope followers in Reaktor etc. no cigar)osiris wrote: Mon May 15, 2023 1:23 pm Basslane has this great Side Harmonics function now that can do interesting things to the bass. I read up and apparantly Waves introduced perpetual licenses again. Right now you can buy two and get two for free, a no-brainerMondo Mod does some really cool stuff in one package. It's stable. I use Nomad Factory stuff and HOPE they are coming out with new like I've heard. I will also use Magnetic II and Cosmos has a great sub bass enhancer.

Isn't Audiority's Tube Modulator basically like MondoMod on Steroids?

Nice! Do you know how they compare to R-Bass and Subsynth?I use Nomad Factory stuff and HOPE they are coming out with new like I've heard. I will also use Magnetic II and Cosmos has a great sub bass enhancer.

R-Bass was the one I was trying to remember. Cosmos is a lot like R-Bass, this is from the website:
Features:
INPUT: Shows the level of the input signal
OUTPUT: Shows the resulting output level of the plug-in
SUB-BASS TUNING: Dials in the frequency of the synth sub generator
SUB-BASS DRIVE: Boosts the drive amount of sub bass
BOTTOM DRIVE: Increases the drive of the bottom frequency shelf (less than ~600Hz)
EXCITER DRIVE: Increases the drive of the upper frequency shelf (above ~600Hz)
LIMITER SWITCH: Turns On/Off the built in limiter
LIMITER GAIN: Boosts the gain of the limiter without clipping the signal
STEREO IMAGING: Widens and enhances the stereo field of the signal
POWER: Bypasses the entire unit
So you can see, it does a little bit more. 've used it on Vocals and synths, but it's good on bass because it's a very clean limiter and good sub driver.

yes - kind of... thanks for the reminder, but:jens wrote: Tue May 16, 2023 6:31 am Isn't Audiority's Tube Modulator basically like MondoMod on Steroids?
still: no
a few differences:
1)
the LFO in TubeModulator (TM) has a max speed of 10 (as far as i can see)
whereas Mondo (means modomod) goes up to 6000 (!)
so way up to audiorate, and this quite nicely imho,
for all your knligely-klangy sort of fun
2)
not all 3 modules at once
in TM it is either FM (vibrato) or AM (tremolo), not both at once
3)
in TM, the panner can not be regulated in its wideness (range)
4)
in mondo, the center can be set differently
5)
TM's amount is far less then mondo's
for example the mondo's very very simple preset called "Sweeper"
is not doable in TM
and thats just a super simple FM at max and 12Hz
maybe i have missed something/i might be wrong
but that seems to me quite some differences where mondo still shines imho

Melda's Ringmod is nowhere close to Mondo Mod. I have tried to find alternative to it, but there is none. Mondo mod is unique when it comes to sound. It doesnt "mush" the sound at high rate.Ah_Dziz wrote: Sun May 14, 2023 4:53 pm All that functionality can be recreated with the Melda production stuff.
