I don't think JX-8P ACB has been mentioned enough here, it really is a shame. So here it is. JX-8P ACB.
I mean, really. JX-8P ACB. It doesn't get much love around here. Not at all. That JX-8P ACB. Crime of the century.
Ah, then again, why not indulge in OCD tickling pleasantries once more, eh? JX-8P ACB. Does it register already? I said, JX-8P ACB !!!
And now an angry Japanese elderly man calls me, raving it's early morning hours at Roland headquarters and everyone's got a headache from too much sake last night. I put him on musical hold playing "Domo arigato, Mr. Roboto...", while I air drum those tom fills and crashes..
I'll show myself out
P.S. I think I need to change my phone hold music to "The Final Countdown", with Gunnar "Mic" Michaeli's JX-8P brass patch really blasting full-on in one's ear at almost deafening volume. What a missed opportunity! I shall call Hamamatsu HQ first thing tomorrow early morning, they will be so pleased, I'm sure! Because I don't think they heard me when I screamed "JX-8P ACB" into the phone today, I have to be sure..

How about making all Roland plugins VST3 and AS native first…Jon at Roland wrote: Tue May 16, 2023 10:09 pmHello Shatterdmindofbob. Jon from Roland Cloud here. In order to use Model Expansions you need to have either a Pro or Ultimate Membership or have purchased a Lifetime Key. Great question!shatteredmindofbob wrote: Mon May 15, 2023 8:18 am So, is it possible to buy an use expansion packs with Zeneology Lite? I've dug through this thread looking for an answer but can't find a clear one.
Hi ChamomileShark. An SH5 would be very cool. A rarely discussed synth. It has that quintessential early synthesis sharpness to it. I'll add it to the weekly request list!ChamomileShark wrote: Sat May 13, 2023 1:50 pm still hoping for the SH5.
It would also be nice to have something like the S-series samplers, even if it's just the factory samples.
(and no doubt for a different part of Roland, it would be nice to have some ambient type samples, just one shots for the SP404mk2..I get the feeling that Roland are trying to broaden the user base for the SP404 so that might be something that fits with the product strategy...)
The more tallies for the V Synth the better!Touch The Universe wrote: Mon May 15, 2023 4:30 pm Everyone request a v synth gtI adore that "let them pray" vocal preset I hear in so many tracks.

Create Mac stuff in a parallel universe, far, far away. Create windows stuff in this universe.

Roland is last “men standing” for adoption of AS native support…
Even Pro Tools managed to do that

Now now, lets not make it mac vs win for a gazillionth time. It's just as bad as Final Countdown brass blasting in your ear (Too funky
).
It appears, the grumpy Japanese man who spoke with me yesterday was Katsunori. How he ended up at Roland HQ yesterday in the morning hours, we'll leave to the powers of the local alcoholic beverage made from fermented rice, but anyway, my man Katsunori has totally heard me on my request and rolled out this gorgeous thing.. He's such a legend!

Hey Roland Cloud!! it's been a minute since I've been around, but my requests have remained the same for years
The JP8000/8080
The JD-990
The V-Synth
These three digital synths are really the only thing left that I'm still looking for from the Roland family
. The JP8000 deserves to be brought back as the classic that it is. The JD990 is a crown jewel of a synth and one that I've owned in hardware before. Paired with the Vintage Synth card and it's absolutely sublime.
The V-Synth is more of a 'want' instead of a 'need', but I've owned the V1 Keyboard and the XT and it's absolutely fantastic for sound-design. It felt like I had an old-school hardware version of Omnisphere and I bet it was used in scoring during the 2000's extensively.
If you guys get around to making a plugin, my suggestions would be to choose the V-Synth XT. The reason is because the XT, more than either keyboard variant, would be absolutely perfect for a desktop user. The giant touchscreen display felt like I was operating a giant VST. These are plugins after all and not hardware! there doesn't need to be a faux keyboard on the GUI or tiny knobs like you're operating hardware. The interface might as well benefit the user and a software experience.
The XT would pair very well with a keyboard and mouse for the computer-based musician and would translate very well as a plugin, more-so than emulating the V1 keyboard or GT.
The other suggestion would be to make sure that sample-import is included. That's one of the biggest strengths of the V-Synth series after all. Running vocals through the Varisynth engine makes for some wonderful vocal effects. It would be fun to bring those back!
Thank you and have a good weekend ahead!
