So it seems you are joking...or at least using completely different Mondo Mod plugin, because it doesnt do frequency shift at all!!...all it does is FM+AM /=vibrato+tremolo/, in conjunction with some phase rotation...yellowmix wrote: Thu May 18, 2023 4:24 pm Kilohearts Snap Heap. For AM use Gain, for FM use Frequency Shifter. Mondo Mod doesn't frequency shift that much, eyeballing it looks like 7 Hz at the most, and only in the positive (increasing frequency). Similarly, AM goes only in the negative direction (decreasing gain).
Mondo Mod's rotation goes full 180 (360 total), while Kilohearts' Pan Snap-In goes 45 degrees left and right maximum (90 total). Mondo Mod also lets you shift the "center" from which the panning originates. So in KHS we need to separate the left and right channel somehow. There is no Snap-In to do this explicitly. However, we can use Convolver with impulse responses to do this.
We'll need to add Snap Heap as a Snap-In between the Gain and Frequency Shifter. In this child Snap Heap, disable all but the first two busses. Set the two busses in parallel. Add Convolver with the appropriate IRs, and set the bus pans left and right. Now set up modulation to do the centering and panning and create and expose the relevant macros to the parent Snap Heap so you can access it from there.

You're right, it would be pitch shift or phase distortion depending on how Mondo Mod does it.kvaca wrote: Thu May 18, 2023 6:34 pm So it seems you are joking...or at least using completely different Mondo Mod plugin, because it doesnt do frequency shift at all!!...all it does is FM+AM /=vibrato+tremolo/, in conjunction with some phase rotation...
It's not clear what kind of phase rotation Mondo Mod is using. Are we talking allpass filter?

no, I think its the most simple delay based rotationyellowmix wrote: Thu May 18, 2023 9:31 pmYou're right, it would be pitch shift or phase distortion depending on how Mondo Mod does it.kvaca wrote: Thu May 18, 2023 6:34 pm So it seems you are joking...or at least using completely different Mondo Mod plugin, because it doesnt do frequency shift at all!!...all it does is FM+AM /=vibrato+tremolo/, in conjunction with some phase rotation...

Mondomod is excellent. I use it on every track. I usually put it on a sub-bass drone as an insert to give it just some subtle movement. Works wonders. Can it be replaced? Probably, but I don’t need to.
I wonder what happens if I press this button...

I said "pan, tremelo, and vibrato". Again all of these things can be done with many tools. If you dig mondomod that is great. There are plenty of ways to get the same effects though which was the purpose of the thread I thought.Lbdunequest wrote: Wed May 17, 2023 5:23 pmActually Ah_Dziz didnt specified either, only later called MondoMod just being simple amplidute modulator, so yeah misunderstud happened.gaggle of hermits wrote: Wed May 17, 2023 5:20 pm i've found it helps to write "frequency modulation" rather than "amplitude modulation" if you mean the former. but as it was you who mentioned the apparent quality of the AM in the first place, you cannot be surprised that people talk about that.
