Because I had Satson and Britson I got a $9 introductory price for and pre-mainstream release of this, https://sonimus.com/
It is billed as "that classic British 8014 sound" which means ... nothing to me
, but I put it on my master bus and sounds grand
-- nice when a bit over-driven, but to my ears, really really nice when used with a light touch i.e. gain staging so that the signal doesn't come in hot, and driving enough to get some saturation (the "Fat" flavour is nice) flavour without putting plug's VU meter into the red that often, and then boosting the output of that to taste with a neutral fader plug placed after the plug. That output, cranked, sounds really good.

Oh, I'm excited to try it!! I love A-Console but I haven't gotten an offer anything like yours unfortunately -- $9 is a STEAL. Good job.
For those who don't know, this is a (preamp?) emulation of the Neve 8014:

Here's a cool photo of it:

I guess it's a Neve console from the 80s. I don't know if it was expandable, but from what I've seen it had 16 channels.
Console emulation plugins have come a long way, and are so helpful as part of a multi-stage process to dirty up and overly digital sound.

That is a cool photo. Only thing lacking is Dave from the end of 2001: a Space Odyssey at the mic, around 140 years old, looking at us, puzzled, about to fall over...Cyanide Lovesong wrote: Wed May 17, 2023 9:06 pm

Yep agree, sonimus' plugins are up there with the best, I'd love to see them partnering up to get them into ecosystems like that, or even into stuff like vcv rackDigivolt wrote: Wed May 24, 2023 1:46 pm Like A-Console thread, this would be perfect for Studio One's Mix engine FX
