Tonehunt just went up https://tonehunt.org - 645 model and counting, so go try it out and give feedback on the discord, great stuff on there. :tu: :tu: :tu:

I finally found a really really good bass capture of a Hartke: https://tonehunt.org/EL-34/dbdb03d0-c4f ... 2004761f83
I use this in combination with FogConvolver and bass IRs recommended to me on the discord: https://www.scienceamps.com/irs.html
-> Science 6x10 SC10 U87 3in_dc
First time in two decades I really love the in-the-box sound of my 6-string bass :-)

Neural Amp Modeller is amazing! :-)

Cheers,

Tom

Interesting stuff happening in the NAM development with someone coding a integrated nam-tones.net online database within the plugin for instant play or download.

Also now with 6.3k users in the group, to make finding and downloading models easier, Tonehunt.org is now officially launched and running with an inaugural 600 models available to download right away.

NAM at NAMM

If you're going to the actual NAMM show next week, Steve Acktinson will be there, probably showcasing NAM.

From Steve Ack in the Neural Amp Modeler (NAM) Facebook group:

🎉New plugin release! Version 0.7.2🎉

https://github.com/sdatkinson/NeuralAmp ... tag/v0.7.2

Here's a few of the new things:
* "Normalize" switch makes models* the same loudness as each other. Demo in video!
* Performance improvements! Should drop CPU usage by 30-40%
* Bug fixes! File paths with non-ASCII characters should behave now, and the last directory used for models & IRs should track correctly on macOS now.
Enjoy!
*Models have to be from trainer version 0.5.1 and onwards. It's already in the source code so early adopters can use it today, but I'll make a proper release and point the Colab toward it by default soon. Hang tight!

Just got to say, if your looking for a great clean punchy bass amp sim with great low mid harmonics that isn't boomy and muddy, check out his pack of Hartke profiles. Might be the first time i have found something for bass guitar that just works right off the bat that is already mix ready. Sounds great just DI or with a cab sim after.

🎉 New plugin! NAM Version 0.7.3 🎉

https://github.com/sdatkinson/NeuralAmp ... tag/v0.7.3

A couple cool in things in this one:
* A new skin! I love the way it looks! Thanks to Evan Heritage for the concept and Michl ImNetz for getting it merged in!
* IR Bypass: If you want to temporarily disable it, you can do that by clicking on the icon to the left of the IR loader.
* Knob values can be set by typing in the value on your keyboard.
A ton of bug fixes like:
* We tracked down and squashed a memory bug. If you noticed performance degrading after having NAM open for a longer time, this should make all the difference!
* Support for even more kinds of WAV files as IRs. Still no stereo IRs, but we're continuing to clean out the lurking corner cases & making it more and more solid!
* Stereo inputs are supported in DAWs! [Important: This ISN'T "dual mono" modeling. But it will fix bugs like when Cakewalk had issues when you e.g. put a stereo chorus in from of NAM.]

i am just returning to serious electric guitar playing after decade dealing with sound desiogn and acoustic guitar playing from time to time - it's exciting what can i do with simple sine waves guitar strings produce applying some sound design spice :)
Some say NAM is better than expensive guitar sims, have to check this out for myself:)
Cheers :)

This is typical Jamcat.

That is fair, but how can you praise the product you couldn't even try? Maybe I misread you, dunno

Might they improve over time? They didn't impress me as much as the one below.

The most realistic sim I've played is the Sound Drops' Fullerton.

Almost 11,000 people in the NAM facebook and probably many more that aren’t in the group at this point. So yeah, not too many people using it

So, you are using natively 48 kHz? What a happy coincidence. I guess many people don't even know about this limitation and using the Neural Amp Modeler simply wrong within their preferred sampling rate. The need to use a fixed sampling rate isn't well documented and hard to find. That's what I find disturbing.
I saw that some people already started to sell packs for Neural Amp Modeler and creating a business around it.
Why should I install this software with this major limitation?

Interestingly, I remember the same flaw happened with "VCV Rack" ( VST ), it also was a fixed sample rate in the beginning. Now it is simply a business like any other plugin. But why the "open source" strategy? Everybody talked about a Free open source plugin!
If this happens to Neural Amp Modeler too. If Steve Atkinson is simply starting a business based on "open source freedom" informations and then removing the sampling rate limitation by asking for money, then I highly doubt I will ever purchase it.

If I'm right, Steve Atkinson is not the inventor of this kind of programming anyway.
