Only problem I had was no spare USB c port, so used a USB C to USB A lead, and no problem

I was too slow, put it in my basket...dithered about getting standalone and it went up to 8+ weeks...now I am dithering about getting the standalone... its in my basket but now I know it doesn't reserve it!pdxindy wrote: Fri May 26, 2023 2:15 pmI thought you already ordered the controller version?SLiC wrote: Fri May 26, 2023 2:03 pm They sold in in the UK day 1 (the controller version) and its now on 8+weeks...
They still have stand alone and I am trying top resist as I dint really need a stand alone version...but then the sun has come out in the UK so maybe....
EDIT- Ordered Standalone and its gone through (had the email) - lets just hope it is just the 2-4 days now as all it shows is order pending in my account! As I got the standalone I will probably get rid or my MPC LIVE II along with the PUSH 2 (after I have seen how/if they work together).
Also interesting (I got my receipt through) is it ships from Ableton in Daventry, a little market town in the UK...who knew! Pity its a bank holiday on Monday, probably wont ship until Tuesday now...curse my indecisiveness!

Funny- I just added that to my post when I realised! Again- curse my indecisiveness! Looking forward to it thought, I would always have gone stand alone but though there may be more options doing it as an upgrade, but what the heck, I may have missed the whole summer by then and its going to be a hot one in the UK rightGoony wrote: Fri May 26, 2023 3:15 pmBear in mind bank holiday UK so may take an extra couple daysSLiC wrote: Fri May 26, 2023 2:42 pm

Same, I never sold Suite, and it's at 11 for collaboration. I gel with Bitwigs interface a lot more, but the features of Live are more appealing to me, from MIDI comping, video support, M4L being able to send and receive SysEx, supporting AUv3 etc. Then there's eventually being able to buy Push 3, and one device on your couch, or in a hotel etc.
It cracks me up how every stand alone device sells itself at a beach, or in exotic beautiful locations, as if the only reason to go to the Grand Canyon etc. is to make your youtube video of yourself jamming out with your tech.

One thing I'm curious about is the experience using it to drum with. Everything points to it being slick silicon like the Linnstrument so I wonder how that translates?Goony wrote: Fri May 26, 2023 1:53 pm Got my Push 3 controller today, I can say the pads are lovely, sensitive and vastly superior to Push 2's, the mpe works well too, great upgrade from Push 2.
I know it's all about vulture capitalism in the end and that can be a good thing for us lowly consumers, but it has to be kind of frustrating for people like Roger Linn to watch a larger business like Ableton come in using almost the same material and set up. It's much harder to play pads like this in Push chromatically though, and 64 vs 128 and 200 means there is room for the Linnstrument but Live users impetus to buy is almost gone here.

Well for one you might be able to send a Scene trigger message of some sort from MPC Live II, which gets around the fact that P3 stand alone has no Arrangement or Follow Actions as of now.SLiC wrote: Fri May 26, 2023 2:42 pm As I got the standalone I will probably get rid or my MPC LIVE II along with the PUSH 2 (after I have seen how/if they work together).
It"s frustrating at times being a weirdo musician, old equipment all had for the most part the ability to do songs in multiple time signatures, but Maschine doesn't, neither does Circuit etc. the MPC makes it difficult on the stand alone and Push 3 is as of now only Session View. I'm really hoping this isn't something like the 20 year request to have a key command to explode the piano roll full screen, and Ableton implement some way to finish a song on the hardware.

Dunno bout the Linnstrument, but Push 3's pads are a dream to play on, super sensitive, and the new Live MPE drum rack kits demonstrate that perfectly, going from Hihat closed to partly open on same pad, it really is good.machinesworking wrote: Fri May 26, 2023 3:35 pmOne thing I'm curious about is the experience using it to drum with. I suspect the PUSH 3 will have a lot of updates over time and that finishing songs will be possible, for now now I would be happy 'starting ' songs and developing ideas then transferring back to the DAW with all my Fabfilter plugins and whatever for polishing and arranging. Ableton have my confidence in the way they have developed and supported PUSH 2 (they even still support PUSH 1) so I am glad to be in at the start of the journey.
Will this be the one device that makes me want to sell my other toys? Who know...it may be able to CV sequencer as well as my OXI One with a ES8 on the ADAT, could replace my MPC Live (for what I use it for) and maybe even my AERE touch (although that has other uses) - time will tell, but if nothing else it's an upgraded and MPE PUSH 2, and I got a lot of use out of my PUSH 2.

I also think they are demonstrating the belief they have in the current and future Live devices, with possible more improvements with the devices and M4L devices too.

Good to see this feedback from a user that has one turn up already (on Elektranoughts forum)
''The pads and MPE are AWESOME! Sensitivity, response curves, etc are SPOT ON!
I’m a long time Linnstrument user (since 2015) but my Linnstrument has never felt as good and expressive and as easy to control as these pads!
The scales and root notes page is also really well designed and fast to do on the fly and arranged in Circle of Fifths/Fourths fashion. A lot of thought went into this!''

I am very glad to read the sensitivity is stellar, that is something i have always struggled with Push 1 and 2, specially for playing tuned instruments.

Yes Push 3 pads are very much several steps up from Push 1 & 2. I could never get the pad settings right on the Push 1 & 2, yet Push 3 is bang on, not had to tweak at all.rod_zero wrote: Fri May 26, 2023 7:16 pm I am very glad to read the sensitivity is stellar, that is something i have always struggled with Push 1 and 2, specially for playing tuned instruments.
