Cubases old synths?

Myst, Spector, Prologue, A1 (Waldorf synth) off the top of my head.
I wouldn't bother though. They're not so great anyway, and some (or most?) are 32-bit only anyway. I never heard any of the Cubase included devices, including Retrologue and Padshop which sounded as good as some of the better third party instruments.

Likewise. I don't think I ever used any of their synths in anything, despite trying them out properly. I seriously use many of Cubase's FX and other tools but always found their synths the weakest part of Cubase. Though I exclude Halion and Groove Agent from that - they're very useful, GA in particular surprised me how good it is once you dig in. Padshop is very capable but it just leaves me utterly cold and I have no conceivable use for it.
You should be able to copy over old synths into C12 if you still have older versions of Cubase on your system. I did that with a few of their plugins from C10 that got left out in C12...that drum chopper-upper in particular. Though it means you have to use the dongle to get them to work, so I imagine that applies to synths as well. The dongle lookup code must have been written into every part of Cubase. If you threw away your dongle when you got C12, that route is gone though.
Lots of their old synths used to be for sale separately, so you might be able to still pick them up...if they work. As mentioned, 64 bit only now.

Was D'Cota part of the synths included? I m still fascinated by this. They just dropped it and it's fallen off the face of the earth.

They have been dropped from Cubase 12. There are workarounds to get them running though; along with loopmash.

That was an optional purchase. That was actually done by Waldorf for Steinberg, as much as I love them, they're not the greatest at updating or maintaining their software..osiris wrote: Thu May 25, 2023 9:25 pm Was D'Cota part of the synths included? Interesting. Apparently its the Tera or related to it distantly? Forgot all about the A1.chk071 wrote: Fri May 26, 2023 3:21 pm Sounds like it was a colaboration with VirSyn: https://www.amazona.de/test-steinberg-dcota/
A1 was a Waldorf synth.
That GUI is straight up 2005 Waldorf though. Looks like it could be Largo's relative.

I remember it sounded great but melted the CPU of the day.

VB-1 is the grandfather of all bass vsts. I remember that sounding good. A1 sounded great. I'm just remembering off the top of my head: Prologue was the 'Moog' type vst, Myst was FM and Spectral was like an Additive. I remember these as flat and just kind of dull sounding.

Nathan Fake’s The Sky Was Pink used an even older Cubans synth, and is one of the best synth tracks ever made.chk071 wrote: Thu May 25, 2023 7:42 pm Myst, Spector, Prologue, A1 (Waldorf synth) off the top of my head.

Any synth can inspire a sound if things come together.
