squeaky duck in the bathtub
here comes my entry for this contest.
as usual i don't have the necessary time to finish the song. that's why it's so short and so mediocre mixed. I hope you like it a little bit anyway.

I submitted on the 7th but did later make changes io the intro/outro, changed percussion a little also FWIW.
I once got 19th out of 22 with a track that I submitted and then changed a lot PRIOR to the deadline (bass was originally way too loud) and I thought it was one of my best. I really wonder if some only listened to the original version and if there are people who consistently do that.
OTOH I really appreciate that some people submit relatively early, so occasionally I still do so.

I wouldnt want to submit so early. For that reason. It might not be my best/final version and I wouldn't want to bias people's opinion negatively. First impressions are so important. And as you say - it could be their only impression.empphryio wrote: ↑Mon May 29, 2023 2:10 am I submitted on the 7th but did later make changes io the intro/outro, changed percussion a little also FWIW.

I normally aim to submit two submit a few days before the end of the month. Submitting last minute means you end up at the bottom of the playlist and I've noticed that often means less plays and comments.

Since Apricot supports MTS-ESP (and also since it's such a lovely and useful synth), I figured I should toss something in for this round.
https://soundcloud.com/anotherbenjamin/ice-outline
24 instances of Apricot in Reaper 6 with:
11 ReaEQ, 1 ReEQ
7 GClip, 2 ZEEK STFU, 5 ReaComp, 2 ReaXComp, 1 TDR Molotok, 1 ReaLimit
1 MSpectralPan, 1 Spectral Autopan
1 Valhalla Supermassive, 1 Dragonfly Room
a handful of smaller JS utilities for stereo control
a handful of metering and analysis tools
and Wilsonic MTS-ESP
i wish this synth had more pan knobs and a global pitch control beyond the octave switch, but aside from those little details I really enjoyed working with Apricot. It's clean, simple, and very effective.

Here is my entry:
It uses 22 tracks in Reaper with only a few standard FX like ReaEQ, ReaComp, ReaLimit, Loudness Meter and Span for frequency scanning.

No time to finish this.
10 Tracks/Instances of Apricot by nakst (FL version not CLAP version). Two unused in this Mix. All stock presets from across the various Banks. Some have slight tweaks to Instrument and/or Effects section.
No Effects outside of Apricot except...
Fruity Limiter on master
DAW = FL Studio 20 All Plugins Edition.

Here's my submission
https://soundcloud.com/user-637213504/d ... al_sharing
I used bitwig 5 beta, and of course it was a mistake because I encountered a lot of plugins crashing. But I manage to got this out bouncing some tracks.
I counted 35 Apricot instances, all sounds made from init.
I used a lot of stock plugins (delay 2, eq 5, multifx2-3, tool, convolution)
TB Ferox v3
Fircomp
limiter6
Valhalla supermassive
Khs Haas
Khs Limiter
Looking forward listening to your entries.

"Life in a futuristic mega-city turned out to be not so pleasant. Living in an over populated human hive, spending all of your spare time getting to your stupid day job, having to deal with bureaucracy and corrupt administration, being constantly stressed out. Not to mention a hot conflict zone nearby. Seeing military ships flying above your head became normal at some point. All of this, just like it was hundreds years ago. Nothing has changed. At least you can enjoy unearthly colors outside the window while having a mug of synthetic beer in the nearest barroom".
Another synthwave track with my usual style. The synth itself is nice and seamlessly integrates with my FL Studio. The additions of internal samples and effects were handy for creating sounds. However there are some aspects that could be improved. The biggest disappointment to me was audio rate LFO modulation, especially with sample & hold mode. I cannot explain it correctly but it simply doesn't sound right. Other than that, this instrument would be useful for learning the basics of synthesis.
36 instances of Apricot used to create a track.
Technical details:
Produced in FL Studio 21
Native Effects:
x11 Parametric EQ 2
x2 Delay 3
x1 Wave Candy
x1 dB Meter
VST Effects:
