Good place to buy Ableton Live?

I've been looking for a copy of Live 10 Suite for around $2-300.
Is this a good place to look?
I checked Ebay but don't trust.
Sweetwater and other retailers no longer carry Ableton.
Anyone selling on?
If not, thank you for suggestions.

I got the latest Live Suite from Bestservice during a sale for about $375. Currently it's $530, which I believe is still the cheapest way to buy it new. Apart from that, all you can do is wait for a deal from a reputable seller on the kvr buy & sell forum or knobcloud. If you happen to be eligible for the EDU version of Live someone with good feedback has Live 10 Suite EDU for $175 on knobcloud: https://knobcloud.com/item/78833

Make sure you read the description, a lot of them are EDU. Also check the post date. If it's a really old sale there's an increased chance that the seller has gone AWOL. And of course it's best to buy from someone with at least several positive ratings.Chozami wrote: Mon Jun 05, 2023 1:16 am Thanks, I didn't know about knobcloud yet. There are copies of 11 Suite being sold there, I'll probably buy one of those. Buyer protection.

Focusrite and Novation are currently offering 50% discount on upgrade from Live Lite to Live Suite:
https://focusrite.com/en/news/exclusive ... e-11-suite
https://novationmusic.com/en/news/exclu ... e-11-suite
I am eligible, as I recently bought a Launchpad Pro mkIII. Sadly I already own Live Suite 10, so the offer is not really interesting for me (375US$). I would have to sell my Live Suite 10 licence to recoup the cost.

ThomannMusic.com
The Focusrite/Novation Deal seems expensive to me, especially since you're likely to incur sales taxes on it (in the US, at least).
I would use something free like Cakewalk and wait until there is a sale to get the upgrade from Lite at Thomann. It will be quite a bit cheaper and there is no sales tax there.
Focusrite/Novation is selling Live Suite at literal MSRP, which almost no resellers are doing, so they're giving you a 50% discount, but jacking the price up to actually decrease the amount of savings they pass on to you.
In fact, they aren't even selling you the Lite -> Suite upgrade and then discounting that. They're selling you to full Live Suite @ MSRP and discounting off of that price. The base price they're selling at is like $200US more than Thomann or Best Service for Live Suite, and almost $300 more than the Live Suite upgrade off Live Lite from those sites.
As a result, the resulting price from them is over $50 more than if there was a 30% sale on the Lite -> Suite upgrade elsewhere...

knobcloud.com doesn't provide buyer protection. It's paypal that is doing this, provided you choose the right option upon making the payment. And it isn't easy - you have to start the dispute with the seller via Paypal, give the chance to the seller to respond or fix the problem and then wait. Last time I had a problem - and that was the only time - it took around 5-6 weeks before I got the money back.Chozami wrote: Mon Jun 05, 2023 1:16 amThanks, I didn't know about knobcloud yet. On knobcloud.com it's best to buy stuff from people who have a lot & good feedback, well written listings and are quick to contact you back when messaged.

The current license I got it by upgrading Lite to Standard (from Best Service) then after several months upgrading to Suite directly from Ableton. Both had a discount when I did that.
It's expensive but worth it. The thing is I'm avoiding buying from 2nd hand market now because even if the seller is honest, you can't guarantee that he/she bought it from a trusted seller! Unless that he/she obtains it directly or from 3rd party shop.

Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.
