Hi
I am a 'hobby' Daw user - just playing with it and 'spending more' ... obviously!

I already read some posts everywhere about it, but I do not see a actual clear enough answer, just thoughts.

Is there a way to use Synthmaster One and 2 as AUDIO Input Effects for now?

I am no idiot, but also not so expert... that is why I ask.

I would love to be able to play guitar (or other analogue instruments) with the above Synths and use them as 'live' effects and record via DAW - currently just playing with Cakewalk - which does a good job on almost anything, really.

Thank you for your expert input

PS I own an old copy of Cubase Studio (4 I think) I used on windows XP at the time - 15-20 years ago.

The oscillators have to be set as 'AudioIn' (sm2 in the OSC type drop-down menu) or 'Audio Input' (sm1 in the waveform drop-down menu). For me, as a Mac user in Logic, I also have to sidechain in the source audio and run the SM plugin as a 'MIDI Controlled Effect', but I don't know what the routing would need to be in PC Cubase.

Hi
Thank you very much.

I will be testing it next time I am on it.

Appreciated 👍

Just had 30 minutes and I got it working, in the sense... I can hear guitar going through.

In Cakewalk:
1. Created Audio Track - Guitar Input
2. added Synthmaster 2 FX
3. Set SM2 OSC 1 - Audio In to hear what's what

Works

When I have the time, there will be a dedicated day, just to make it work decently!

Thanks
