Hello, all
I'm wondering if anyone knows of a vst filter modeled after the filter from the Polivoks? Or one that is similar in character? I know erica synths has a hardware version... any thoughts for a VST?
Thanks
Andrew

The only one I’m aware of is the Vortex module from Vult Modular that’s available for VCV Rack Pro. It will set you back an additional $25, but you get a bunch of other great modules.

Wonder why he didn’t port to Voltage Modular

It's a bit hard to model, since the Polivoks filter is heavily non-linear and depends on abusing an opamp essentially.

No idea on the VST, but I can recommend the Erica Synths Acidbox III (and I think they put it in a couple other devices, as well).

There was one in Reaktor i think called "Vodka Filter" or something on the nose like that, but i don't see any of those blocks or ensembles anymore in the Reaktor User Library when i just went to look. There was also a model of an Ensoniq sampler filter and a few other novel ones, but searches are coming up empty. I didn't know you could delete stuff from the RUL, but i guess you can

Thank you all! I actually tried pulling out the filter from the monovoks from the realtor user library. Turns out he pulled it from the user library himself.
Will check out the others but this is this the winner here
VCV was tempting. But I do not need another rabbit hole right now. Lol
Thanks again!

I could be completely wrong but I thought the 'Russian' filter (Россия) in the Flower Child VST was based on the Polivoks - viewtopic.php?p=8619712#p8619712

It’s still there. Maybe they were having trouble with their search function.TIMT wrote: ↑Wed Jun 07, 2023 10:38 pm There was one in Reaktor i think called "Vodka Filter" or something on the nose like that, but i don't see any of those blocks or ensembles anymore in the Reaktor User Library when i just went to look. In my experience (I own an actual Polivoks) no digital filter really nails the tone. They may do something similar (sound distorted, kinda wild) but they don't really reproduce the same instability and ADSR curves.

There's a 32-bit vst of Polyvox. No idea if it's any use to you (?)

This is cool! Do you have any projects that you’ve used it on out in the wild?ampetrosillo wrote: ↑Fri Jun 09, 2023 2:56 am In my experience (I own an actual Polivoks) no digital filter really nails the tone. Yes, for example in this old, nastily recorded instrumental song:saint_william wrote: ↑Fri Jun 09, 2023 5:56 amThis is cool!
