I am trying to work out where the hell I’d have hid my Microfreak. I don’t live in a mansion so it shouldn’t take as much searching as it has done so far. I want to try out this new sampler and granular firmware update. I don’t have much footfall in my home other than me, can’t believe the meter reader guy would have stolen it!
Other than that, quite a nice Hallagalloish track coming together, mainly based around a cracking little UVI Falcon DX-1 preset. Tried to build something close to the sound on the Hydrasynth, but it didn’t have the same vibe. Trying not to ruin it’s simplicity by overdubbing loads of layers of other shit on top.

losing a whole synth is quite something.
im sure we've all misplaced a cable or pedal, but a whole synth???
and you don't even get high!!
i once lost a top hat. took me weeks to find it, mainly because it had somehow flattened and was under the settee.
now i do not have a top hat.

Bottom hat, basically a top hat for people who don’t mind a pegging.
The synth is very small tbf so easy to end up in a drawer or a storage box. Or it ran away and joined the bloody circus.

I had a Volca hide under a shite Behringer for a week while I searched my apartment.
Quite frustrating.

As ridiculous as it sounds I have searched my place from top to bottom and no sign of it. Really odd.
Edit: Hooray! It was hiding under some towels. Of course, where else would it be? ffs, I'm surprised I hadn't stuck it in the freezer.

And then after all that fun finding the Microfreak the Arturia MIDI Control Center hung every time I tried to connect the hardware. D’oh!

There's an updated version need for the new firmware and uploading samples, have you already installed that?
(And if so, and it was a self-update, might be worth downloading and installing manually)

Yep, followed the Arturia instructions to the letter and it didn’t work. I’m sure it works fine on 95% of PCs, mine is a flaky bastard. I’ll wait a bit and see if there’s any update.whyterabbyt wrote: ↑Fri Jun 09, 2023 9:17 am There's an updated version need for the new firmware and uploading samples, have you already installed that?

I passed on sugar bytes drum computer in the past due to the demos sounding uninteresting to me, but picked it up recently.
After working with it in the studio, I have been able to get some very organic drums from it and now using on a few tracks as the main drums.
