Somehow I entirely skipped the Native Access part, so it's more than rebranding for sure, but how much more and how it plays out in practice remains to be seen. Probably something like what you describe.VitaminD wrote: Wed Jun 14, 2023 3:05 pm It's more than rebranding, from the news posted here, it seems they are consolidating all products under the Native Access app as well as user accounts across all 3 brands.
So it seems, eventually, we'll get to link our PA accounts with our NI accounts (as example) and just use the NI Access installer to handle plugin installation and updates? That is how I'm reading it at least.

So this is essentially an announcement that they've laid off 2/3 of their custom support staff? Exciting news!

But this didn’t tell about the company fusion, yet, for me anyway.
But maybe you are a psychic.

Curious if they're going to keep all the Bx and iZotope products. Or rather, I don't think they're going to keep all the plugins and which ones will get the chop? Raum or Neoverb? Choral or Blue Chorus? Will we get to keep NIfonium?

The mail out says that PA stuff is being kept as a separate shop for the timebeing, which I assume means that they have contractual issues with the third parties. You could imagine that someone like Unfiltered Audio might have a deal for a particular time period and they can't just transfer that to NI.vurt wrote: Wed Jun 14, 2023 5:23 pmalso, what about all the devs pa already took under their umbrella? is all their inventory now ni owned?Double Tap wrote: Wed Jun 14, 2023 3:54 pm Curious if they're going to keep all the Bx and iZotope products. Also, NI's third party sales are very much tied into Kontakt and NKS aren't they? And they have a kind of premium, cinematic approach to them, so they might not want to be pushing some $39 plugin dressed up as a "no, really, it's worth $250" discount.

indeed, i wonder if those sales will even continue now? as you say, ni have an image they will want to maintain, won't want every new release to be expected to drop to 29.99.Double Tap wrote: Wed Jun 14, 2023 5:39 pmThe mail out says that PA stuff is being kept as a separate shop for the timebeing, which I assume means that they have contractual issues with the third parties. the izoptope made sense, two top tier companie merging, but pa and the bargain basement doesn't fit imo.
interesting to see what happens now...

I reckon PA must have been really cheap compared to NI and iZotope so perhaps PA just, you know, reset the private equity coupon.vurt wrote: Wed Jun 14, 2023 5:43 pmindeed, i wonder if those sales will even continue now? as you say, ni have an image they will want to maintain, won't want every new release to be expected to drop to 29.99.Double Tap wrote: Wed Jun 14, 2023 5:39 pmThe mail out says that PA stuff is being kept as a separate shop for the timebeing, which I assume means that they have contractual issues with the third parties. But NI isn't exactly known for its effects apart from Guitar Rig so perhaps all those modelled EQs and vintage compressors are an easy way of getting in on the UA Connect action.

that's a good point, plenty of things they can use to boost the catalogue.
i just don't see future products getting the $30 sales after a few months.

Yup. NA2 obviously wont run on Win7, but when I put it on my Win10 system, which had been running the original NA just fine, it wont actually do any installs or updates. Nothing NI support have asked me to try has made a difference.liquidsound wrote: Wed Jun 14, 2023 5:19 pmWin10?whyterabbyt wrote: Wed Jun 14, 2023 3:12 pmwell that f**ks me right over, NA doesnt work on my Win7 DAW, or my Win10 system.VitaminD wrote: Wed Jun 14, 2023 3:05 pmit seems they are consolidating all products under the Native Access appMine is working great.

I actually think the new logo and font for Ni looks cheap, they are losing their brand identity.
