Thank you for your input!
The actually reason Studios email headline was: ":!: SOON DISCONTINUED: The Old Authorization System". Would that be better suited for your liking so it would not offend you? :)

I get so much MONEY from the clicks this topic gets! Woohoo! So the "clickbait-y" is really important indeeed!

Sounds a lot less cumbersome, though the interface is kinda confusing as it is. Still I think it might be worth a few hundred bucks (when I have that kind of money to blow).

Post

Quick question;
When will Reason + become AS native? Not crucial but important neverless…

1 -- it authorizes automatically and continuously refreshes that authorization when you log in unless you explicitly log out,

Are you saying that each time you do log on, the new one year off-line authorization is authorized?
Or do you authorize off-line capabilities on a specific date and "renew" the authorization yearly?

2 -- we decided that removing all encryption of song files
So, I feel like a dumb-ass, but I don't understand that...
1. It's the former, every time you get a connection with our servers it refreshes the offline authorization in the background so that it's now valid from that date. So there's no specific renewal process of the offline mode, once you've activated long-term authorization, other than having an internet connection at least once every 365 days. Makes sense?

2. Reason have traditionally encrypted all contents of a song file, relying on the copy protection system to decrypt them. Because of the new offline solution, we we were finally able to remove the song file encryption that we’ve had since Reason 6

1. The CodeMeter solution was based on authorizing one computer. If you had access to a USB Ignition Key, you could also authorize that. In other words, the new system is much more generous and it's also seamless (it authorizes automatically and continuously refreshes that authorization when you log in unless you explicitly log out, for example on a shared computer).

2. We made a couple of tradeoffs in the new authorization solution. After research, surveys, and talking to music makers we decided that removing all encryption of song files, making the authorization transparent, and allowing three computers offline was the best way to go for a good experience.

A very vast majority of people connect to the internet at least once a year and that's also the only way to get free updates, bug fixes, and new devices etc. Supporting a computer completely offline forever would have had other downsides that we didn't want.

Hi Anosou, I have another question to add to the other two.
I am trying to install Codemeter on osVentura, but can’t install because “cannot check it for malicious software” (I downloaded from Reason Studios last week, but pop-up says “software needs to be updated” help! :help:

Thanks. Point 1 makes sense, yeah. :)
Point 2…uh, does this mean you can access audio files within a project? Or is everything still locked into a .reason file?

Hey, I am sorry for directness but who invented this new licence sheme? Can't you see the mess you're making? Come on, just let us customers have the Reason software as long we want - we buy it!! Why is it one year? Why not e.g. one month, why not 5 months, why not 3 years, why not 6 weeks. Explain please!

This whole thing feels just compleate random, it's totally unlogical. Its a disaster for me.

Hey Anosou I’ll give you 10 bucks if you can make LaLivre’s offline activation only last like 15 minutes before having to check in online again.

DM me your Cash App lol.

ok, things are sorted now.
situation was this: my old Reasons license was registered to an eMail that nolonger exists.
then on top of that, i had the same problem with my Reason license as well as with the Reason update from jrr.shop:
my notes, as well as the numbers i got from jrr.shop, had the "serial" number AND "the code" within the same "sentence of numbers/letters".

So, what i thought would be one serial number, was in fact both. To be split up, and filled in into two separate check boxes by me. Me, completely not aware of this.

Thanks for caring.
Now, to wait for a sale for "Objekt", haha
"Plugin has turned Drug now"....and the business knows it.

Isn't it to monitor license holders using Reason on more than [the maximum allowed] computers?
Ask not what your DAW can do for you, but what you can do with your DAW

That, and, you know, not handing out the software for basically free.

But I guess RS should just blindly take everyone's word that they paid for it and not implement any type of verification like:
