BONES wrote:CypherOne, KMFDM have been around for 20 years and released 15 albums. They were about the first band to put heavy-metal guitars to a techno beat with any success. They have worked with just about everyone in the scene from Nina Hagen to Ogre.
thanks. :)

CypherOne isn't my real name BTW...

No, they probably just never got around to putting any of the stuff from 1984 there. There may be a world of imitators out there today but these guys were doing it when no-one lese would have dared.
no_barcode - don't sweat it, the're just blowin' off steam when the opportunity presents itself. Can't wait to see 'em squirm when I trot out the World Tour schedule next month.

Bones looks like the singer in "scotch" :)

no_barcode quoth
I just find it strange how people can be so supportive; encourage each other to find success - yet when when someone does find success; it would seem those same people suddenly turn a cold shoulder.

Oh what utter bollocks. We're taking the piss out of him paying a fortune for his shades. Nothing to do with 'success' at all. And I've never treated BONES any differently from the way I am doing now. To suggest that I should do so because he got on stage with someone well known to him - that's totally f**king outrageous.

I've never been a huge KMFDM fan, but they are a BIG name in industrial music. I always prefered Frontline or skinny puppy, I still listen to some ClockDVA, but for some reason I'm just not into that stuff anymore (ahh...the good old days of WaxTrax). Although I absolutely love the song GodLike.

I saw them live almost 14 years ago in a small club with about 20 people there. I think the people in the crowd were crazier than the guys on stage.

Standout moment was when one of the band members kicked this guy in the head with his boots. OUCH :-o :-o

both were sick f**kers!

They saved Godlike for the last encore - it near bought the house down.

personally I kinda respect BONES for sticking to his guns and not worrying about the opinions of others. I'm too shallow to do the same.

The problem I have with the industrial scene personally is there's too many 'grown ups' trying to be scary when all they are doing is making a load of noise dressed up like a crap Darth Vader. But hey, I'm sure there's plenty of scope to take the piss out of the sort music I like/make.

I've never been into the scene either. I find it very strange but it seems to be a phase people go through - you see 'em all the time for a couple of years and then they move on. Mostly we just get up and play and I usually wear shorts and t-shirt when I go to a club, as much to get up their noses as anything [they hate shorts, I think they have a thing about shins].

Just takin' the piss out of you.

Anyway, congrats on the show. Very cool to be playing with KMFDM. I've seen them here before in LA and they put on quite a good show.

Any chance you guys will play any dates in the States any time soon?

God, someone gets on stage with someone allegedly well known and now everyone wants to be his buddy now. What's wrong with KVR these days?

I agree with that 100%

I have a few 242 cd's,but in general found the scene far too laughable to really get into it.
not worrying about the opinions of others is no doubt a pre-requisite for the genre

1st: I'd like to congratulate Bones for having some success and for having shared stage with KMFDM. Healthy envy is what inspires in me...

2nd: I never LOVED Kmfdm either. I've always preferred Skinny Puppy too. KMFDM seemed to me a bit parodic, actually. But they do have some great tunes, and a couple of great albums.

3rd: I miss better albums from the genre. Apart from the latest Portion Control album 'Wellcome', the latest Skinny Puppy album and little else, I have not been positively impressed by any other band/album in the so-called industrial-EBM genre. Too many Front Line Assembly-Skinny Puppy clones everywhere. Though I respect their efforts of course.

anyway, congratulations and good luck to you, Bones.

Never a truer word said. I  Wax Trax.

As for all the BONES-bashing on here, I gotta admit I kinda like the guy. He's a character.
