Aphex Twin drum effect

I'm interested in a specific effect from Aphex Twin's track Vordhosbn. It first occurs at 19.5 seconds in the kick drum. You hear three kicks in a row with a glitchy, resonant rising-pitch effect on them. You can hear it again at 25 seconds, this time two kicks with the same effect, falling in pitch rather than rising.

What's going on here? A comb filter? Some sort of very fast modulation?

seems like some sort of resonator changing the fr , also the kicks sound bit crushed (very noisy)

Sounds like short un-synced digital delay on kick with long feedback, similar to Karplus-Strong synthesis technique

Just sounds like a 909 style kick through different levels of distortion along with some automation of reverb send to me.

There are many parts of this track where there's a big detuned bass layered with the kick but it didn't seem like what was happening there
