It's improved for me and I'm currently on my 5 year old Windows 10 PC with an Intel i7 4 core i7-7700k 4.2 GHz 8 mb cache processor.
Thanks, looks like you have a pretty similar machine to what I'm using. It might be worth the upgrade just for better CPU usage for me.

These multi-layered synths with a full blown mixer/insert/send system (hi, Avenger) are starting to annoy me.

Also a little perturbed that Lush stopped working for me in 2020 when I moved to Big Sur and it hasn't worked since then, and now in order for me to be able to use it again they're charging me $45.

The good news is you get to vote with your wallet. If you haven't used it since 2020, and felt support was lacking and don't really miss it, or even like the design (i.e. the multi-layers/mixer/send thing, not the GUI), then just don't upgrade. Spend your money with companies who you feel offer better support and deserve it.

I wouldn't mind paying an upgrade for the drum synths personally, and when that day comes, almost certainly will, but that's me.

I know, that's why I'm not upgrading. I like their effects though.

Hey guys, this is more of an open ended question but : How do you use multi-layered synths ? I feel like the only think i can think about doing with acces to all theses layers are complex evolving pads. Other than that I can't see myself using more than 2 layers.
I make electronic music - DAW of choice : Live 12

I used three layers exactly once in Plogue Chipsounds, but it was a weird case, and today I probably would have used one layer of Chipsounds and thrown a couple of oscillators in Bitwig Grid at it.

I once designed a sound in LuSH-101 that used two layers, but I never actually used that preset in a recording. :hihi:

Different drum sounds on each layer, each with separate keymap and output ? I seem to remember that L-101 came with a couple of drum kits

Yeah, having just tried the demo, I agree. Some steps forward, some steps back.

In todays market of $€£29 synths 45 for this upgrade feels expensive.

My inexpensive Behringer RD-8 just kills the D16 808 from a sound perspective. A new sound engine and better sequencer would really improve the D16 machines IMO.
You cannot be serious: "are a fast follow". WTF?

"I'm hoping that dessert will be a fast follow, Mom!"
"I'm hoping that a pay rise will be a fast follow, how about it boss?"

Please don't let this become 'a thing' on the internet...

Lush has a wonderful, clear and REALISTIC skeumorphic interface, oh the humanity... we can't have that!

Fast follow as in like not taking 5 years. I'm not expecting it next week. Or even next month. But should the drum synths be the next to see updates? I certainly hope so. I understand it will take time, but they're also long overdue for updates.

Let's not make being a tool and jumping to conclusions and overreacting on the internet a thing. Oh wait, too late!

Layering synths in a DAW is way more practical, way easier, and way more flexible than doing it inside one plugin. Unless you get off on it like Mr. "I pre-generated a 6-hour generative music preset that you can't really use, but I just wanted to show off"...which now makes me wonder what am I going to do with a generative music expansion of pre-generated generative music. :?:
