I like thie old school sound of this commercial Hard Trance track from 1997.
This lead sounds like it's quite overdriven and distorted. Interesting effect.

Use the midi and depending on what synth you use you want to use saws over 4 octaves and make them quite detuned.
Then mix a layer of dance piano's over it and maybe even more.

There's definitely some drive on it too

Thanks sometimes I forget that it is enough to spread such chords over two, three octaves or more to get a similar effect.
I experimented a bit with one of the presets in Vital, added some effects from FL Studio and got something similar.
The original still sounds more metallic to me and has more low frequencies, but I don't need them.

How to recreate this old school Hard Trance lead from 1997?
