just a quick question regarding ableton live 4 and its rewire option:

is there a way to turn rewire off completely? i do not use it and dont plan to use it anytime soon but rewire is still active. live gets listed in cubase sx2 rewire list and it swallows a couple megabytes of my good ole RAM! i dont want that :( any tipps?
with fl studio one can just uninstall rewire support, afaik...

I highly doubt it is megabytes wasted. Don't worry about it. :)

Not sure, but I think this lies in the nature of Rewire itself:
Once you had an application rewired, it's somewhere fixed in the preferences or something.

after some search trhough the ableton forums and my harddisk i tried to just delete the rewire.dll in the system32 directory of my windows installation. and et voila. it worked. rewire is deactivated in every host but no error message seems to occure.
and it really uses a couple of megabytes RAM if you just install ableton live demo and start cubase sx2. dont know why. but now i can rest assured and happy with another maybe useless case solved ;)
