I see you got your answer. Sorry I was away from my machine.mountainmaster wrote: Wed Jun 28, 2023 12:16 pmHow do you get this upgrade offer? I don't see it in my account.Aloysius wrote: Wed Jun 28, 2023 9:25 am M-Tron Pro IV
My Upgrade is for £29.99 (+VAT). I haven't pulled the trigger ... yet!
At the moment I don't even see the M-Tron Pro on the products page.![]()
Is GForce M-Tron Pro still the best "Tron" vst?

Please allow me to offer a different perspective on this, and I don't mean any offense by this. Writing and fixing and debugging code is YOUR job. You have access to the code. You can fix it.WatchTheGuitar wrote: Wed Jun 28, 2023 5:25 pm I’m trying to find something I can report that may shed light.
I found an event viewer entry suggest a fault in ucrtbase.dll which relates to a Visual C++ c runtime.
Tried downloading the most up to date version of that runtime installer, but still getting the issue.
Will dig a bit more then report it.
The main problem is that writing and fixing code is what I do all day for my job. Not exactly enervated by the idea of trying to debug issues or report errors in other peoples’ stuff on my own dime in my own time.
Writing and fixing and debugging M-Tron Pro however is GForce's job. It's really not up to you to fix it, so just report it based on what you know so far. They may already be aware of the issue and have a fix or workaround. If yes, then you'd be spinning your wheels for nothing. You don't have access to the source code anyway and that could be where the fix is needed. Or maybe they can just tell you "download X redistributable version Y.Z".
So my advice: you're a developer in day your job, but you're not at work. Just be an end-user report it. I work with enough developers to know they're happy to fix bugs but they need people to report them.
If they need your assistance hunting down the bug, they'll ask for more info. And again, mean that in the nicest way possible (sometimes my tone can come across like I'm lecturing or grumpy - it's just friendly advice).

Weird that we're talking about it in this weird thread. Seems to happen a lot on kvr where someone bumps some old thread for a new product instead of making a new one and many people don't know a new release happens (very common with Tone2 threads for nonsense reasons). Hopefully someone will make an official thread upon the actual release.

I checked out the thread and that's how I found out about the new release as well. I ended up buying the complete bundle since it was also on sale (Around $250 for M-Tron IV and all the expansions)briefcasemanx wrote: Thu Jun 29, 2023 12:32 am Weird that we're talking about it in this weird thread. I also saw the upgrade price for 29, and now it's disappeared altogether with no upgrade price available at all. Any response?

For me it only revealed the £29 (+VAT) price after I logged in to my user account, and then added it to the cart and hit the checkout button - Until the checkout page it still showed the full price.irvg wrote: Thu Jun 29, 2023 7:23 am I also saw the upgrade price for 29, and now it's disappeared altogether with no upgrade price available at all. So someone at Gforce got back to me to say they have heard the same issue from 2 or 3 other users so though there’s no fix yet there’s obviously some common root cause that needs tracking down.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Wed Jun 28, 2023 9:22 pmreport it based on what you know so far.WatchTheGuitar wrote: Wed Jun 28, 2023 5:25 pm I’m trying to find something I can report that may shed light.

That's good. Hopefully they can dig into it and figure it out.WatchTheGuitar wrote: Fri Jun 30, 2023 10:33 am So someone at Gforce got back to me to say they have heard the same issue from 2 or 3 other users so though there’s no fix yet there’s obviously some common root cause that needs tracking down.

It's been sorted. Seems it's something to do with the prefs file. I renamed the old one (on my PC the location was
C:\ProgramData\GForce\M-Tron Pro\Preferences
)
and it started working but had no presets (as the path to the library is in the preferences file) then I renamed the prefs file and this time no crashing and all working well.
Since it's been working I've been really digging the tape tuning features. Layered everything with an instance of VSM for massive pad nonsense.
