I would not be surprised to see a crop of plugins that can “learn” a synth and create a near perfect representation of it, like Tonex. Older synths without any MIDI controls will probably be the hardest to get right because they will take a lot of physical manipulation of a lot of settings.

That would be quite interesting and innovative per se but not in the sense i meant. i meant non emulation innovative. i hadn't seen Tonex.zerocrossing wrote: Mon Jun 26, 2023 4:31 pm I would not be surprised to see a crop of plugins that can “learn” a synth and create a near perfect representation of it, like Tonex. That's also quite interesting and yet somehow isn't what i was hoping for. i like to synthesize sounds i hear including the ones bouncing around my head but this tool would just eliminate the fun i have doing it.
It reminds me of Darwin Arts (a one person show) doing something similar but not as advanced, maybe, i think, .

Right. I hear you, but I feel like we’re awash in amazing stuff. I personally want to see better resynthesis and more support of things like MPE.CrystalWizard wrote: Mon Jun 26, 2023 4:59 pmThat would be quite interesting and innovative per se but not in the sense i meant. i meant non emulation innovative. i hadn't seen Tonex.zerocrossing wrote: Mon Jun 26, 2023 4:31 pm I would not be surprised to see a crop of plugins that can “learn” a synth and create a near perfect representation of it, like Tonex.
