IK Multimedia releases AmpliTube Morley® Collection, bringing to AmpliTube 5 three officially certified classic and rare stompbox effects from the pioneers of effects pedals.

Over the years, the Morley company has produced innovative wah-wahs, volume pedals, phasers and delays used by a wide range of musicians, including Steve Vai, Cliff Burton, David Gilmour, Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, Jerry Garcia and Lee Ritenour.

Get More with Morley

AmpliTube Morley Collection features three of their most groundbreaking stompbox designs including the much sought-after EVO-1, which uses an electro-static delay apparatus famously called the Oil Can Delay. Each effect captures perfectly the original’s unique tone-shaping design with some added new features approved by Morley in the case of the EVO-1.

Morley EVO-1 "Oil Can Delay"

The Morley EVO-1 is a rare and highly coveted effect pedal that was released in the early ′70s. It uses a patented electro-static delay technology to create a warm, warbly sound that is unlike any other delay pedal. Perfectly recaptured by IK’s design team and sound-certified by Morley, users get all of the hardware’s sonic idiosyncrasies and unpredictability along with new tone-shaping controls over Disk Noise, Disk Erase and delay BPM.

Morley Power Wah Fuzz

The Morley Power Wah Fuzz is another classic effects pedal released in the ′70s that combines a wah and a fuzz effect into one unit. Using the latest modeling technologies IK has faithfully recreated the warmth and saturated tone of the original MPSA12 transistor. Even the wide frequency range of the optical sensor (the first of its kind) was modeled to deliver a variety of sounds from subtle to extreme.

Morley Contour Wah Pedal

The Morley Contour Wah Pedal Model is an electro-optical wah pedal that was first released in 1996. The AmpliTube version offers the same wide frequency range and a variable Q control for precisely shaping the wah sound. Like the original, the virtual pedal has a Contour mode for sweeping filter effects that along with the Level control can fine-tune the high-end response and personality of the pedal from mellow to bright and cutting.

Pricing and Availability

AmpliTube Morley Collection is available now from the IK Multimedia online store and from IK authorized dealers worldwide for $/€49.99.* Morley Pedals may also be purchased individually for $/€24.99 each.

Special Offer

AmpliTube Morley Collection will be included with new purchases of AmpliTube 5 MAX v2 and Total Studio 4 MAX through July 31, 2023.

*Pricing excludes taxes.

Just confirmed the next one in a software meeting, and I'm personally very excited for it. There's more coming for both AmpliTube and TONEX thankfully, all really cool stuff.

Oh nice. I love Pulsar’s Ecorec, and it will be nice to have another drum style delay. It it’s as good as their EP-1 emulation, it’ll be a hit.

Don't forget MixBox. There are a lot of Amplitube effects (including the Morley oil can delay) that would be great to have in MixBox. So far only Sunset Sound Reverb Collection has been added as add-on, and that was a year ago.

And I'm actually waiting for IK's own Echorec model for T-Racks and Amplitube. I know there are alternatives, but after being seriously impressed by their Space Delay, which I love and use all the time, I want them to do the Echorec, regardless. I want to be impressed yet again, I want them to crush it.

There's been vague hints and suggestions, even Dave Kerzner "the Squid" went on record a few times, saying he has the "holy grail" Echorec in his collection, and I'm sure he'd gladly make that available to IK developers to proceed with the emulation, but it's been pretty silent since. I hope the kettle is still boiling and things are cooking.

I just keep hoping they will add auto envelope control to all the wah pedals and filter based effects, or do something like what Guitar Rig does with the Modifier modulation modules to control parameters.

I’m disappointed that the AmpliTube 5.6 update didn’t address any of the shortcomings with TONEX integration — mainly moving the Tone Model browser down, so you can tweak the amp settings while browsing TONEX amps, and giving TONEX amps the ability to disable/swap the cab component. This how it works in the dedicated TONEX software on both accounts.

It looks like IK is back to business as usual, piling more junk in the AT hoarder house instead of doing necessary cleanup and repairs.

Already exists and in standalone form just like Space Delay. We don't want companies re-hashing emulations that have already been done properly by others. Let IK focus resources on getting their older stomps up to the accuracy of ToneX

There are at least 3 or 4 Echorec models out there, and all of them are different. A version from IK would also bring its own flavour to the party.

If everyone stopped modeling gear once it had been done by someone else, we’d be stuck with just the Nomad Factory Oil Can Echo.

There are even more models of the Space Echo. Which one do you use? It’s probably not the first.

That’s a nice dream, but has IK *EVER* done that? (Hint: no.)

First of all, cut it with the "we" thing. You're not the advocate for the people. Speak for yourself.

By that logic of yours, Roland SE was already done by somebody else, yet IK still came to the scene with Space Delay and broke the mold. So your point "don't do anything just because someone else already did it" is fallacious. That can never be true for the humanity's sake.

A company can never be bothered if competition's already done something, they will never go anywhere with the mentality like that. After all, since the dawn of times, the spirit of competition was never about: "oh no, somebody's already set the bar or set a new record, it's unbeatable, we can't do anything about it". That's cowardly and weak. It's about accepting the challenge and beating it. In other case, we'd still be at square one with that kind of thinking.

I expect IK Multimedia to take the challenge and beat it. Last but not least, I like T-Racks and Amplitube ecosystems very much, I'd like to have things neatly under one roof, just as about anyone. So good luck with the Echorec, I say.

I’m not a fan of the Audiority sound. Every time I’ve tried one of their products, I feel underwhelmed. I’m actually really happy with Pulsar’s Ecorec, it would just be a little more convenient to have it as part of Amplitube.
