I guess it would be stupid to ask if you liked the UK?BONES wrote: CypherOne, we spent a week in Germany and two weeks in England. We only got 10 days notice so we didn't have anything organised [two of us got a free ride over and back with the RAF]. I managed to catch a few good bands in London and see lots of krap.

I know, hence the way I phrased the question. But misery coupled with misery, you never know. Anyway, I like it here, but that's more the people than anything.vurt wrote:CypherOne wrote:I guess it would be stupid to ask if you liked the UK?BONES wrote: CypherOne, we spent a week in Germany and two weeks in England. if he hasn't been, it will be very funny for him to learn that 'industrial' is not the same here (where it was invented) as in america!
So you've not heard of SPK or Severed Heads then?

An idiot on Set Theory:

I loved the UK, especailly as it was before the government deregulated the dollar and we were getting about $1.40 to the pound [its now about $2.50]. We could live like kings and queens [to quote kILLING JOKE]. London was fantastic, the tube made it so easy to get around even though everything is spread out. I went to the Marquee club almost every night and saw some incredible bands. I got to see Bauhaus on their Spirit tour which is probably the best live music experience of my life. I got to watch a test match at Old Trafford [England v India] and to see New Order at the Hacienda. For an ad-hoc holiday it was pretty damned good. I even enjoyed seeing Blue Rondo a-la Turk in Liverpool.CypherOne wrote:I guess it would be stupid to ask if you liked the UK?

, like skinny puppy/ministry/etc.!!! yuck...
and no one over here still likes 'sisters' covers anymore.
i welcome the currently growing acceptance for 'industrial noise', 'power electronics' and 'ritual' here in the rhein-main-area, these styles are being played more and more in the clubs over here...
everyone who managed to keep at least partly his sanity until he is 17-18 flees from there as fast as he can...

the scene 10 years ago?BONES wrote:Given that my favourite acts are LEAETHER STRIP, DANCE OR DIE, X MARKS THE PEDWALK and ARMAGEDDON DILDOS, I think I have a reasonable grasp of the scene.
i know. i just mentioned US, because it seems that everyone is always referring to the US-valid interpretation of 'industrial' as you should've read in my post.BONES wrote:BTW, Sydney is in Australia, not the US.
