I'm not getting audio from the extra outputs on Bucketpops when using the Clap version in Reaper (Mac). I do get it when I try the VST3 version.

Post

This seems to be a problem of Reaper, not of Bucket Pops. In MultitrackStudio for example it works fine.

Hey BJ and co.

This round I am planing to use this new gem named Solaris from the recent KVRDC2023.

Before I drop it on every lead and pad on my entry is this thing allowed? I guess if Valhalla is, this one should too but I would like an "official" statement on this.

Thank you for your hard time.

This is probably the best of the current Developer Challenge entries (imo)

It's a judgement call. It is allowed, but beware of modulations, and retaining the nature of the synth. The shimmer and chorale sections can easily be pushed beyond the limits of what is allowable.

See 'Effects - what is NOT allowed' : https://sites.google.com/site/kvrosc/rules

Thank for clarifying that Richard.

This is legal Bucketone and bucketpops. But not my entry. Just needed something soothing. Ran into another evil person in a work setting. Too many such people over the decades. It's always just a bit amazing to me what walks amongst us.

Anyway it really worked. I'm soothed. So thought I'd share.

Bucket Pops updated to version 1.1.5; it fixes more UI crashes of the VST3 version.

Now Bucket Pops also memorizes the page of a plug-in instance i.e. when you re-open the plug-in window, you will see the page that was last opened for that specific instance. Before anyone asks: This behavior is not persisted i.e. the page state is not stored with the plug-in state. :hihi:

Lot's of reverbs these days claim they do "shimmer". As I have learnt from valhallas blog the "classic" Eno/Lanois shimmer contained a pitch shifter in the feedback path. If solaris includes a pitch shifter, which can't be switched of, then I would say solaris is outside the rules... from looking at the gui I'd say that both semi and amt dials should be zero to be safe.

Here is my preliminary entry
7 instances of Bucketone (version 1.0.0.0), 5 of Bucketpops (version 1.0.1.0)
Effect Plugins - native Cubase reverb, delay and EQ

Didn't have any issues with BucketOne & pops in Cubase 11.

As your creating the sound, just raise it up an octave on another version with verb on wet, even adding a touch of modulation would work no!?
You could even create/cut up to 32nd or 64/128/256th ifs it’s a longer note & verb that an octave up :)

Yeah, good idea to simulate it. I gonna try, definitely :tu:
The "classic" shimmer however has the combo delay + pitch shifter in the feedback path, this means it's not a single pitch shift but a pitch shifted signal is feed into the reverb again ... after the reverb another round of delay and pitch shift and feeback into the reverb and on an on ...
On the philosophical side: I think the charm of the classic thingy comes from the early digital eara imperfections, be it AD-Converters with low SR and Resolution or slow CPUs. I like imperfect. Imperfect is the new perfect...
May be a Bitwig Note-Repeat can do part of the trick by pitching up the repeated notes ... before they go into the reverb.

Btw ... I hope Arthur '2 Synths' Jackson will join this round of OSC ...
