thx, this shows how transparent their rules/policies are, why isnt this clearly stated. why this pr nonsense.WatchTheGuitar wrote: Sat Jul 08, 2023 10:59 amFWIW unless I’m mistaken I think the limit is keys acquired only via Play4Life. I have 5 other keys I picked up via the original deal where it wasn’t named as a promotion, but just the original Roland Cloud rent to buy thing, and I don’t think they count those.

Well if they can just switch things on a dime anyway I don’t imagine there’s any recourse. I’ve never seen anyone from Roland implicitly spell any of this out, it would be appreciated if they did.

I subbed P4L when I could freely change Lifetime keys and I would like that ability to continue. Changing without notice is a bad vibe.Jon at Roland wrote: Sat Jul 08, 2023 12:07 am Hey everyone! It's Jon again. I want to make a post regarding Reward Instrument Lifetime Keys from the Loyalty Program and Play 4 Life Promotions since it has been a source of a number of inquiries. If you’ve earned a Reward Instrument Lifetime Key through our Loyalty Program promotion (closed for new enrollment on 12/31/2018) or one of our Play 4 Life promotions, these are your instruments and will not be removed from your account. If this you feel you are missing Reward Instrument Lifetime Keys, please reach out to us direct for account specifics.
With Play 4 Life you will receive your Reward Instrument Lifetime Key(s) after your annual Play 4 Life membership ends. Reward Instrument Lifetime Keys are only earned with the purchase of an annual Play 4 Life offer during the promotional window. Reward Instrument Lifetime Keys can be selected or swapped at any time during the annual membership term, then selections will be finalized upon the completion of the membership term. Previously, Reward Instrument Lifetime Keys selections were able to be modified during any active membership, but as part of general system maintenance and keeping up with the growing Roland Cloud community, this has been changed to apply directly to the membership term when the Reward Instrument Lifetime Keys were earned.
If you are maintaining the same membership you had when you signed up for the Loyalty Rewards program, you should still be able to modify Reward Instrument Lifetime Key selections, but If you canceled your initial Loyalty membership and then signed up for another membership, you will no longer be able to modify Loyalty Program Reward Instrument Lifetime Key selections.
We are always available to help with account specifics through the Contact Support portal, so please feel free to reach out to us there, or reach out to me direct if you ever have questions. Thanks everyone, and have a great weekend!

I also would have rearranged my keys if I had known. But I'm still dealing with the RC website not even showing all the keys that I have! I'm missing at least three there!

Ugh, had I known this was coming I would've swapped at least one lifetime keys. I've changed them freely but not abusively over the years just because I'm the undecisive type but right now I'm in a position where I'm stuck with two SRXs for lifeJon at Roland wrote: Sat Jul 08, 2023 12:07 am Previously, Reward Instrument Lifetime Keys selections were able to be modified during any active membership, but as part of general system maintenance and keeping up with the growing Roland Cloud community, this has been changed to apply directly to the membership term when the Reward Instrument Lifetime Keys were earned.
Obviously I would've preffered two Legendaries had I known my last choice was final

I have been trying out a few of these recently (I have had the TR-808 for over a year and quite like it).
My biggest surprise was how good the D-50 sounds in software.. I don;t remember it sounding this good in hardware
.. I do remember comparing tons of times it with the M-1 back in the day and ended up with the M-1, but maybe because the Korg's M-1 software is old and in Korg's software infancy they didn't do that great a job with it, but software Roland Cloud's D-50 blows my software M-1 out of the water.
My biggest disappointment is how unimpressive the Roland Cloud J-8 sounds. Maybe Tal's J-8 has spoiled me for much too long (and there again i don't remember the hardware sounding as good as the Tal's J-8), but I definitely am not impressed with the Roland Cloud's JP-8 even at version 2 (the Juno 106 RC sounds much better to me strangely).

Hey Jon at Roland,
Sorry to be repetitive with my requests and many others but, can Roland give us definite date for VST3 compatibility with Mac OS with M CPU’s ?
Apple introduced M1 in November 2020, Roland is the only one that is not compliant!
Can we get definite answers please….

Hey ToddlerTN, if you have earned the rewards via completing the promotion, you will still be able to select your Rewarded Lifetime Keys if you haven't already. They are linked to your account and not your membership. If you have issues with this please let me know!ToddlerTN wrote: Sat Jul 08, 2023 2:12 am Thanks, Jon. You wrote that selections now “apply directly to the membership term when the Reward Instrument Lifetime Keys were earned.” But what happens if you complete your membership term and do not renew (revert to a free account), and you also haven’t made any Loyalty Program Reward Instrument Lifetime Key selections? Do you lose them?
Hey Caine123, you can purchase all of our plugins as Lifetime Keys and never interact with our membership service if that's more your speed. Memberships are entirely optional. You are only limited to 10 Rewarded Lifetime Keys through the Play 4 Life promotion.Caine123 wrote: Sat Jul 08, 2023 9:16 am Well i guess this is my last year of roland cloud. The service started promising but now it is just pr stuff and blabla. Also what kind of service and customer unfriendliness is this? You may only have 10 lifetime keys. Lol. Then keep your cloud i am hitting 10 keys already. What advantages do i get? I give my money to other companies without this cloud bullshit and where i can own more than 10 vsts without even an internet connection. This service sucks and i hope people realize it that the last few years are very bland and just pr posts.
Normally you give money and take the product you purchased home. Done. Now companies start to let you study their policies and rent only their products. Byebye until rules are changed lol

1. you changed the policy, so can i still claim freely my last, i think, 6-7 options? keys?
2. what benefits do i get when i reached 10 keys in 5 years ( where i should be already now) for the years after 5 years? why dont you guys not remove the limit?
you can also pm me, cause i dont want to be subscribed for no real advantage and i dont want to support any policy changes without any email notifications etc. this is plain customer unfriendly.
sorry if i sound rude, but it is my hard earned money and customers/users should get benefited and not getting disadvantages.

I asked this on another forum: will my P4L auto renew or do I need to re-subscribe manually?Jon at Roland wrote: Mon Jul 10, 2023 7:11 pmHey ToddlerTN, if you have earned the rewards via completing the promotion, you will still be able to select your Rewarded Lifetime Keys if you haven't already. I’ve got the same question. I paid for a year of Ultimate in advance, which ends July 31, during last summer’s P4L promo. I can’t currently subscribe to anything – all options are grayed out. I don’t know if my subscription will auto-renew and charge me for another year in advance, or if I have to let it lapse so I can sign up for another year of P4L.
