True but Armageddon Dildos and Dance or Die are still around and still doing good things. The last couple of Leaether Strip albums were getting better and better too, and it is rumoured there will be another one. These days the genre is full of tarnce krap and there is not a lot of good stuff coming out. I want to get hold of the new Flesh Field album as I really liked the last one but that is about all really.

You guys ever think about covering Ian Dury's 'Hit Me With Your Rythem Stick'? Especially with all the pad and trigger talk we've had. I bet you guys could make that your own. Especially for Germany!

Yes it was. They went off after 3 or 4 songs because they were pissed off with the sound but when the crowd started to riot and break things they quickly came back on and finished their set. They were krap live. Have you seen 24 Hour Party People? Its well worth a look if you haven't, its all about Tony Wilson and all that stuff.

I'm not familiar with anyone that is a "goth/industrial" type promoter, the DJs around here actually have more influence.. you might try hitting the DJ page off sfgoth and trying to get in touch with Fernando or Perki, both of whom seem to have more connections than a telephone switchboard!

If you do make it out here, post some tour dates!

But yes New Order were kinda crap live I agree. Too bad Ian had to snuff it like he did - but New Order did well after in a respectable fashion atleast.

Looks like you're US Tour is shaping up nicely here too.

Wish I could find some of those pictures from the (now defunct) Leaether Strip site of Claus' wedding ceremony to some old guy... it look liked a scene from some John Waters film with Claus looking frighteningly like Divine.

God I'm glad I never saw those. Still, you don't have to approve of the guy's lifestyle to appreciate that he pretty much defined a genre single-handed. Solitary COnfinement is still the quintessential EBM album of all time in my book.

yes, I have indeed been joking but it's true nonetheless - Hessen in general and Frankfurt in particular is the arsehole of Germany - I could tell some nice incredible stories I and others have been experiencing there...

it's really hard to put into words how much I loathe the place you live in...

and yes, all the places you mentioned are way better than Frankfurt... (here's hope though you don't think Sachsen-Anhalt is a town)

Don't get me wrong, I don't disaprove of his lifestyle in the least bit. Just the particulars of the wedding were a bit surreal and the gentleman he married was a good bit older and very conservative looking.

Yeah, and his music was very cool indeed.

hm... i don't have any incredible bad stories to tell about frankfurt and i live here since i was born.

berlin? hm... everyone who thinks he's cool (but isn't at all) moved over there and feels much cooler now... ok, we're glad we got rid of them...

better than frankfurt? why? the crime statistics are nearly the same...

ruhrpott? where these thousands of guys come from that invade mallorca/ballermann each summer? whow am i glad not to have them in my neighborhood...

sachsen-anhalt (which i know is not a town, didn't quite get the joke in your comment)... hm... i'm not quite keen on loosing my job and having to buy a brand new brown uniform with a strange black cross in a white circle on a red armlet... noohoo, these guys have no chance in hessen, i'll better stay here...

thats it with the few examples i mentioned, and i could carry on for hours with other towns/regions... but i won't...

until you can tell any facts, why it should be so bad to live here, this thread hijacking
