But it seems for me none of the relevant links in this topic works anymore?
I know they are years old - so no surprise!
Any hint where I could get them? (fxp and fxb would be cool, but VSTPresets would also work, since - if I understood correctly -, there is a converter around which can convert from VSTPreset to fxp.)
Thanks!
This is what I have found so far

Also these look interesting, (and I doubt either have VSTPresets, but not checked it out yet)
This isn't what you think.

I already found those too, but those are all just presets/patches in Synth1's native format (.sys).
What I'm trying to find would be either the 'VSTPreset' files mentioned in this topic or fxb resp. fxp files.

This sounds more like what I'm after.
But I'm too stupid to find out how to download this from your link.
The link gives me some WebArchive calender view...
It tried with what I found at the top of the web page (also embedded in your link: 'https://sites.google.com/site/digitalso ... resets.zip'), but this gives me a 'Site not found'.

OK, I'll try to teach you!

1. Find the lastest snapshot in the calendar.
2. Point by mouse at a date in the calendar (date in a little green circle) and in a little window that will appear click on the time when archive was created.
3. Wait a bit till your download will start.

Thanks lobanov!

Glad you teached me!
Learned something new today! :-)

Will now try to find that tool to convert VSTPresets to fxp also in this Web Archive!
If unlucky, it doesn't seem to be too complicated to re-write this tool somehow...

Edit:
Luckily, Fxtractor (The tool to convert VSTPresets to fxp) still is regularily available here:

Hello everybody!

Does anyone still have the tool 'S2VConvert' (with which it is possible to convert Synth1 native '.sy1' preset files to VST3 '.VSTPreset' preset files) lying around somewhere?
Or is anyone aware of a similar tool which would convert Synth1 native '.sy1' preset files to either VST3 '.VSTPreset' or VST2 '.fxp' files?

Background:
I managed to find/download a zip file containing 7967 Synth1 presets in VST3 format ('.VSTPreset') and successfully converted 7957 of those with a utility called Fxtractor to VST2 format (.fxp).
And all of those 7957 .fxp files I could successfully load into my VeeSTeeEx wrapper hosting Synth1.
Nearly half of those have been auto-tagged with appropriate categories.

See the VeeSTeeEx wrapper here: https://www.kvraudio.com/product/veeste ... roductions
This is nice and all good, but the problem with those VSTPreset files is, that it is super-hard to tell who initially created those presets.
And before I make such a VeeSTeeEx preset file available to the public, I want at least the majority of the presets it contains to be properly tagged when it comes to the authors of them.
Thus this tool (S2VConvert) could serve me very well, because tons of preset files are available in native .sy1 format in zip files where their authors are known.
I could thus use the tool to convert those files in folders to '.VSTPreset' format and then use Fxtractor to convert them to '.fxp'' format which VeeSTeeEx needs for import.

I'd really like to have this at some point and share it.

Thanks for your help,
Patrik

I don't have 'S2VConvert'.
But a similar tool seems to exist: https://github.com/thomashuss/patch1
I don't know if it works. And now you will have to teach yourself...

Thanks again lobanov!

This looks promising - though probably a bit of a hassle to get it running on Windows with this Python dependency. Will check it when at home. Nonetheless kudos to its developer who wrote a exhaustive readme!

I'm having hard times with 'patch1' (which lobanov pointed me to in a post above - managed to somehow build it, I guess, but it gives me errors when I try to import banks or presets.

Would really appreciate, if someone could offer me to download 'S2VConvert' in case you still have it somewhere on your computer.

Thanks,
Patrik

Good news!

I was now able to use 'Patch1', after I reported my problem(s) to the maintainer of that project and he fixed them.
Currently that project doesn't allow batch converting, but I managed to do some modification to the code which does it now for me.
I can now batch convert Synth1 .sy1 patch files to fxp preset files, so that they can be imported to VeeSTeeEx.
Thus it will not take forever, until I will release that presets file.
I still need/want to do some tweaks here and there and add additional banks I find on the internet to have it as complete as possible.

Currently I have nearly 17.000 presets in the VeeSTeeEx preset file for Synth1.
Let's see, how many it will be at the end.

One problem though:
KVRAudio only allows uploads of maximum 20 MB for preset files.
My presets file currently already has ~68 MB and might possibly grow as large as ~80 MB.

Anyone has an idea what could be the best solution for this problem?

Thanks and cheers,
Patrik

This is indeed good news and thank you! I may have misunderstood but can you share it from a file sharing site maybe? Dropbox, WeTransfer, Google Drive...
This isn't what you think.

Probably yes - as a last resort, since for me such a solution feels so temporary.
I contacted KVRAudio today via email - hopefully they can give me an exception or can uploaded it themselves on their site without that size limit...
