To my ears, when it was side by side with a Minimoog, the Source sounded identical, so long as the Mini was using only two oscillators. It is definitely a richer‑sounding synthesizer than the Moog Prodigy or Moog Rogue — and it's programmable!

So basically a minimoog without the third oscillator that can be programmable. Since they already do a minimoog clone and it's not that hard to program a minimoog, I don't see the point. May as well copy make something inspiring like Moog's Subsequent 37!

This will sell. If they gave it a master output AND a set of 8 analog outputs that would decouple from the master if used, we could create our own stereo spread externally and make this thing really special. Perhaps with some per voice detune. I love the idea of bringing back something long gone and enhancing it. Good one Behringer.

I'd have it over the 800 as well. In a gear pimp daddy way, with B synths, I'd go pro1, the Bource, then a prophet16, DS80, the Jp8 one, the UBX-a not for the sound I'm meh on, but just because I'm the gear Daddy

They're basically taking the Poly 800 framework and fitting other oscillators and filters into it (like Sequential did with the Prophet-6/OB-6). Source easily fits into that framework, is one of the more highly regarded Moog's, and is one of the only classic Moog's that was programmable, so this is a good fit. If they marketed it as a Memorymoog, it'd be panned as being a dumbed down version, so instead they're doing a souped up Source.

If they did a proper memorymoog, meaning a keyboard, nice design with good components, effects, like the Poly-D, then I think it would be welcomed, much like the UB-Xa. But maybe not! I don't work in PR or sales!

Synthedit (Gui) has entered the HW Stage

This will be a great Companion to my Pro 800 soundwise so i am getting one as soon as they can ship it.
The only thing that confuses me is the Square wave that shows Pwm but no knobs for PWM modulation on the Panel.

I also see that the 2 Lfo's have the same Destinations on both and i hope that they can Change Mod 2 to some different sources than Mod 1 like PWM or it will end up being a 1 lfo synth with it's 2 lfo's.

Good to see Behringer releasing synths again, but have to say their poly analogues are leaving me cold. Want to love the Pro800 but not being wowed by anything I've heard online. I already know this Moog will leave me even colder. Wish they'd hurry up and get Proton out, or the VCS3 - more mono quirk and less poly stodge. (I know I'm in a minority with this).
