Well, it sets the range to the standard 48, that is what I usually want. I don‘t have to do anything more than just switching on MPE mode. An extra plus is, that this is not saved with the presets. Others don‘t get it, that this has to be global…

I disagree to the quoted statement, but didn‘t dive into creating sounds with it yet. The presets already make me happy…
I already expressed my opinion on this in the official thread, but I think the fact that the mappings are fixed is a really poor design choice, and I hope that they add something like a mod matrix or performance macros that can be linked to MPE in future versions.

Mostly, I really dislike the choice to hardwire strike force to MPE Y position rather than velocity. There are cases where using Y position makes a lot of sense (it's great with multi-strike, for example), but for single plucks/hits, using velocity makes so much more sense. They describe their rationale for this as being based on the velocity (in-)sensitivity and relatively large Y axis of the Seaboard, but on the Linnstrument, with the Y axis packed into a much smaller physical space (and perhaps this just speaks to my limited abilities) it makes for wildly inconsistent strikes in MPE mode.

I find Chromaphone more diverse in terms of sound design possibilities compared to Physical Audio offerings.
However, the Physical Audio synths sound more rough and sort of industrial, that can be a plus if you are in for unusual sounds.

Seems more efficient that Chromaphone 3.
Indeed, small bug in the computation of the frequencies when sliding across the keyboard. We are fixing this

The dev agrees with me. You must have been playing off without noticing.

That's promising, I will try it again once that is fixed.

Kind Regards

Hey, just pushed version 1.0.3 which hopefully solves this problem. Thanks for spotting it!

Really? Have you tried Arturia Pigments?
Sorry, not my cup of tea I’m afraid…

Pigments is a fantastic product, but there is a kind of weird, haunting sonic texture that is a trademark of Physical Audio’s stuff. I suppose this is what attracts some users and repels others at the same time …

Cool synth indeed.

Wish list so far: Solo/mute/pan and the possibility to do indivudual output routing on the mixer.

I think it is weird that there is no envelope for the filter cutoff, especially when the guy in the tutorial videos demonstrates the filter while adjusting the cutoff manually and it sounds pretty cool.

MPE PM that doesn't emulate? I will purchase this. I want to make presets for it. I wish it supported MTS-ESP and was CLAP.

We've released an update to Modus, v1.2.1. This has a new MIDI/MPE window with customizable settings, enhanced LFOs, and tweaks to the audio engine.
The update is available at https://physicalaudio.co.uk/downloads
