It's very unlikely because my tastes are pretty niche, but I'd love to see some more 1990's virtual analogs. The Supernovas or even the Yamaha AN1x. Just about anything other than another classic analog polysynth. I'm up to my eyeballs with those plugins

Sounds like it's in the pipeline, but I doubt it'll be out before the next V-Collection drop. I'm very much looking forward to a new version that works seamlessly with my machine. It's an awesome plug-in. Much better than Roland's Zenology based one also.

The problem is it has sounded like it’s in the pipeline for the past 7 years. Martin’s MO has been to drop in every 18 months to announce some new potential movement, whether he’s thinking about resuming development or open sourcing the code, only to disappear again without a trace.mmccarthy wrote: Sat Jul 15, 2023 3:57 pm viewtopic.php?p=8606478#p8606478

The last time he did that was January, and once again he’s gone MIA without any progress reports since. I asked directly 3 or 4 months ago and have gotten zero response, as usual.
So given Martin’s track record, it looks like more of the same from him. It is not anything you should get your hopes up over unless there is at least an alpha version you can download.
If Arturia decides to model the JX-8P, it will actually get done. And it will be maintained. And it will work on your system in your DAW. It will be VST3 and Apple Silicon. And it will sound legit. And that is worth infinitely more than a 5th empty promise from Martin.

I believe Roland cloud does the JX-8P or JX-3P? Also, If you get the System 8, I think the JX-3P is one of the synths included. And same for Jupiter X/Xm.
IF YOU REALLY MUST HAVE A JX-8P/JX-3P EMULATION!

Zee No Logy JX-8P samples, you mean? It's not serious. And 3P is a different thing, irrelevant.I believe Roland cloud does the JX-8P or JX-3P?
He just wants a properly supported JP-8X component modeling is all. People trying to convince him otherwise is a mystery to me. Besides, Roland is super late on VST3 and Silicon, they still don't support it.
JX-8P VSTi with VST3 and Native Silicon support must happen ITB. Personally, I'm impartial if it's Arturia, Martin or Roland themselves who's gonna do it, but it's absolutely the thing to be done.

Ah sorry, wasn't aware this was a common thing. Yeah I'm not getting my hopes up too much until there's at least a usable alpha is released.jamcat wrote: Sat Jul 15, 2023 6:52 pmThe problem is it has sounded like it’s in the pipeline for the past 7 years. Think Arturia's the only likely candidate. Can't see Roland doing a proper version as they've already got their Zenology attempt. TAL don't seem to be putting out anything in that space, perhaps a small outside chance of something from Cherry Audio but I'd be surprised.

Those are the ones I’m hoping for.
No…it’s pretty weak. Depending on the patch it can sound kind of okay in isolation, but when you compare it with a top-tier Minimoog emulation (Model 72, The Legend, the official Moog Model D plugin, and many others…we’re really spoiled with choice right now), it’s immediately obvious it’s not in the same league.Luka_Kostii wrote: Sat Jul 08, 2023 4:20 pmI heard calls for Mini V4 update, but isn't Mini V3 already on the money?

I rather not. I approach Mini V3 as its own thing, because if we begin to compare, I don't think Arturia will reach Softube or Synapse, or UA quality, even with V4 update. I don't anticipate it.but when you compare it with a top-tier Minimoog emulation
But I love Minimoog for these types of sounds and Mini V3 seems to work fine.

GForce Minimonsta2 is currently on sale half price if anyone can't wait for Arturia to get their act together!

I don't see why they wouldn't be capable of reaching the same quality, there's no universal law preventing it. Arturia mostly has a bad reputation because V-Collection still contains a number of outdated plugins with DSP code dating back 8-12+ years (including Mini V3). Their latest V4 rewrites (JP-8, CS80, P5) and Juno 60 are very competitive.Luka_Kostii wrote: Mon Jul 17, 2023 12:03 pmI rather not. Take a single oscillator, producing a drone. Send it to the wave shaper, altering the tone.
This can be a triangle, Sawtooth or a square. Modulate the pulse width, nobody will care

They ruined JP-8 V4 for me by getting rid of the split mode. CS-80 and Prophet-5 rewrites were better.Their latest V4 rewrites (JP-8, CS80, P5) and Juno 60 are very competitive.
I don't know, I just don't anticipate Arturia to beat those guys. Guess, this is one of those cases where I'd love to be proven wrong, as I own Mini V3 and in case of the superior, improved V4 version, I may snatch it for a small fee or even for free, who knows. So, if they manage to pull it off, I only capitalize, thank you very much. But I don't really expect it.
I remember contacting one of Arturia's reps here about Farfisa V missing the lower manual, on why that is and if they'd consider adding it in an update, he told me Farfisa sales were not so great and it wasn't worth the trouble. Mini V sales must be doing better, yet if it's enough for them to go into trouble rewriting it, remains to be seen.
