Yeah, it does seem like lazy songwriting. If they really wanted to be lazy, it would have probably been better to omit the second line, and just use an echo effect on the first line.

A bit late in responding, but finally worked that lyric out:

Love requires 2 hands. No love: only 1 hand needed. Hence love is a second hand emotion.

and i might have used "gagam" and "gamba" in scrabble
and the scrabble computer word judge rejected them
for being "not valid"

and i had to come up with a "valid" word to continue
and a i lost the game cos i wasted about 10+ seconds
and the game is only 60 seconds long
