refined by voting and here is the solution with all the referenced tracks:

Thanks to everyone who listened to my abomination of a medley and for all the helpful feedback I got
Well, I was glad I was able to guess two songs but I feel I could've gotten more songs.

After my guess of Vicetone & Tony Igy - Astronomia, I automatically was thinking of Eiffel 65 - Blue but I doubted myself.

Since you mentioned that you referenced Walk In the Woods, I just rewatched the movie Twister about 1-3 weeks ago.

Another song that I should've of guess was Coolio - Gangsta Paradise. I knew this part sounded familiar but I thought it was a theme song from a video game.

For the part that references Modern Talking - Geronimo's Cadillac, I initially thought it was a Modern Talking song since it did have their style. Two songs came to my mind: You're my heart, Your My Soul and Atlantis Is Calling (SOS For Love). I heard those songs on YouTube but they didn't sound that part from your song. This made me doubt myself that it was Modern Talking and thought it was another Italo disco or Euro disco artist from the 80s. Well, I at least was on to something when I commented, "This reminds me of a famous Italo Disco or Euro Disco song from the 80s but I can’t remember the name of the song."

Anyways, I had fun trying to guess the references used in your song.

But there is another trick as well: Change the comparison objects. As a swimmer I realized that it is good to not always measure with everybody but with myself. So you can be happy whit every little improvement, even when there are some people better than you.

I think I can improve but.... my all time favorite entry into the OSC (not by me) came in 43rd out of 54. Sometimes people just have different tastes. It can be sad when few share your tastes. But one just has to accept that that is just the way it is.

So true. I can remember in the late 1960's when I was experimenting with a VCS3, virtually no-one had a clue about what I was doing, let alone have any idea what the noises were all about! Luckily for me I found some like minds and got to work with them, many until I retired! Before Personal Computer's were a thing I was programming up FX on single board LSI-11 computers (basically a pdp-11) - all "good fun", but never a commercial possibility.

I just make music for me, if others like it, good. If not, that's no problem either, I will still do what I want to do.

I know I've said this before ... cheers ... dB

That's 99% true for me, I need ad least one other person than me to appreciate what I made.
That's not (just) for my ego, I think it's the purpose of doing any kind of art, it's meant to be some kind of communication. True that I primary communicate to myself, but unless we are solipsists
we cannot avoid to look for contacts with others.

[BTW Bob I appreciated your talk about scoring and ranking, the "thermometer" thing ]

Hahaha! Not only would Master Ken beat me, when it comes to the stuff you guys have practiced:

1. I can't ice skate AT ALL @doctorbob - impossible for me… :ud:

2. Even worse, I can barely even swim properly… True story when I was 16 we had to go and swim with my class in school for life saving exercises. Long story short, the guy Omar my classmate who I had to save ended up helping me back instead!! Sure I can float and somewhat get around but actual proper swimming, nope… ;)
