I think it's a pretty easy answer for myself, and it's probably why I never had a chance as a professional musician. I tend to race forward with inspiration with brakes that are pretty shoddy when it comes to considering the technical aspects of a recording.

Now, that's great when you're playing in a live situation with some folks who can man the helm of mixing and such, but when trying to record, it can be quite problematic.

Do you typically follow your heart or mechanics when you record? And looking back, how do you feel about the success of those pieces after some time has passed?

Dick first. Sex energy is the secret weapon to honest and powered up artistry and the highest inspiration. Listen to 99% of the music people post up here and it lacks power. No oomph. It's as if people are writing while they're sleeping. Head, heart....it is irrelevant when you write fueled up with sex energy. A bit like everything just falls into place.

If you’re wondering, I was trying to find this sample pack I swear I saw years ago of someone recording the sound of them playing the toilet with their man mallet (as in they just recorded them slapping the toilet with their junk) lol.

Mostly under 3. My songs rarely go past 2:30. Wham bam thank you mam is how i like it. Songs that go to the 4 minute mark more than likely contain the idea of some idiot in the band who likes to wank on his instrument. That's what happens when there's democracy in a band. If you mean posting my own music forget it. My stuff is way too good for KVR. As far as what's out there, you can almost never go wrong with good ol classic rock n roll. Same with classic blues from the 30s, 40s etc. The black artists. White artists doing blues is like putting mayonnaise on chocolate ice cream, it's disgusting and should be outlawed.

It's only weird because sex is taboo and a very misunderstood force of energy. To reach the advanced intelligence level of someone like me for instance requires one to be a chosen one among the sheep. I've obviously been chosen. I understand high knowledge that mind controlled people are incapable of. You wouldn't understand (for.obvious reasons of course).
BTW i just realized Head or Heart First would be a good song title.

Whatever the f**k my inspiration tells me to do, as thecontrolcenter said above. Some ideas are cerebral, some somatic, but neglecting either is the way to madness. Just pounding is boring, and just thinking is bewildering.

Facetious answer: All humans are deuterostomes, which means the anus forms first, followed by stomach. Heart comes weeks later, and mind takes decades to develop.
